Our late summer monsoons have started. Every afternoon for the last 4 days we have had thunderstorms, lightning and rain. Yesterdays was spectacular, tons on lightning and thunder with huge rain cells. Got almost 1/4 inch in a few minutes time. Archery hunters, come prepared!

Just got home from a weeks fishing at Blue Mesa Res near Gunnison. 20 miles of road construction, really a mess! Punctured a trailer tire, had to have been a sharp rock. Luckily no damage to my trailer.

Just got home from Blue Mesa. Fishing was pretty poor. Lake has an algae bloom and surface temp pretty warm. All the Kokanee are deep (70 to 100'). We trolled and without downriggers , couldn't get deep enough. Fished some where the Gunnison River enters the lake and caught a few rainbows.

We definately need a new governor to begin with.

I bought deer and antelope points to go with the ones I already have. Probably have enough for 2024, but a lot depends on how many tags they issue. The units I hunt are all in the south central and south western part of Wy. These areas got hit pretty hard last winter.
