Saw my surgeon l this week and he said I am good to go. Start walking longer and just be a little careful on uneven surfaces for a couple of months. I will be using walking sticks for awhile on my walks. I'll be ready for 4th season with my elk tag in hand!
I bought my son his first big game rifle in 1977 when he was 12. I bought a Remington 600 in .243. He still has it and still shoots well. If I was buying a kid their first big game rifle today, I probably would buy exactly what Hilltop did. It probably will do everything needed to take almost...
I have a handful of units that I have researched and hunted that are not generally very popular for various reasons. When I don't draw or just want points, I go to them and look to see if there are any available as left overs or secondary draw. This year I put in for 4 different tags for elk in...
I have one (a Leupold) and I like it, BUT in my opinion it's not a hunting scope. I bought it for my 25-06 and it was great at lower powers. I was using it on an antelope hunt and was looking across a big area at some goats about a 1/2 mile away. I had it set at 18x. Forgot to turn it back to...
I have 3 big game calibers 25-06, 30-06 & .300 Wby. I hand load for everything, Havn't shot factory loads since the 1950"s.
My .25 is for antelope, hogs and deer. My .300 Wby is for elk and anything larger. My 30-06 is my backup. All shoot less than moa groups.
Don't know what I would use...
I am probably going to replace the sonar fish finder. It has a Humminbird Wide Field. The problem is that it is really hard to read the screen when the sun shines on it. I also would like a color screen and as simple as possible operation. Small size and less than $500.
Any recommendations?
Finally got my new boat in the water for a shake down yesterday. After I got it out of my storage cover, I had to de-winterize it. I checked all the engine and outdrive vitals. Charged the battery and checked all the safety equipment. I also moved and rewired the sonar fishfinder.
Went to our...
I have hunted it many years ago and OOBUCK is spot on. The only concern I would have is winter kill. Some of the units close to 65 had a bunch and populations could be lower than normal.
Good luck.
Yep. All of the units I applied for (except for 1) had 4 or less tags. One of the elk units that I have hunted several times always has left over tags. It is a migratory unit and needs some snow to push the animals into the area.
I am on Facebook. Except for the stupid ads, I keep in touch with a lot of friends, relatives and former classmates and people I worked with.
There are a few shooting webpages I look at and comment on, but that's it.
I spent a lot of time in Fl in the 70's working on the Shuttle program. Lots of gators and turkeys and a few hogs , but working 7 days a week leaves little time for much else. When I did have a day off here and there, I went fishing and diving.
