Both residents and non residents can apply for a 8 person draw process group to try and make the system better. The info is on the CPW WEBSITE.
Well people shouldn't bitch about the draw process group when they have a chance to be part of the solution not the problem, I think we need to work together as residents and non residents instead of against each other.I went to the CPW site and saw that there is an opening for a Wildlife Council County Representative. Our county has a public lands/recreation administrator who I have served on several areas (workshops, etc) who is really an outstanding guy. I let him know about the opening and he is going to apply. Hope he gets it.
Thanks for posting this info.

I actually think that you would need to be politically connected to get it, but you never knowI mentioned being prior service so they will probably throw me out first.
When you look at all the recent appointments by our Governor, I thing you are right.I actually think that you would need to be politically connected to get it, but you never know
No need to stand up to CPW, overall the wildlife officers and biologists are good people.Well who ever they select I hope they have common sense, fairness and the balls to stand up to CPW.
.........Whether they know anything about fish & wildlife management or not. I think the latter is probably true.No need to stand up to CPW, overall the wildlife officers and biologists are good people.
Just gonna have to stand up to the CPW Commissioners who were appointed by the Governor.
Same here!I’ve watched enough Commissioners Meetings to realize very few of them know anything at all about managing wildlife. Wildlife officers and biologist present factual information and make some great recommendations to them, and then they ask the most ridiculous questions and wind up making decisions that just don’t make sense sometimes.
