Any tips or tricks to replacing stuck blades in an outdoor edge knife?

The blades can get stuck after you allow blood to dry in there. Soak in water and they come out fairly easily. I love the outdoor edge knives and carry them exclusively now.

    Antelope numbers and tags issued?

I just returned from southern Wyoming. I wasn't hunting antelope but I paid attention to them as I have a pile of points. I found a lot of antelope but they were very concentrated in big herds. On one river bottom ranch I saw a herd of 100+ animals all together on the hay meadows. I think...

    2020 Mule Deer Success Thread

High mountain mule deer are better than hay meadow / corn field mule deer. I still like both but will take a whitetail doe over mule deer.

    Backcountry Questions

I have never packed a bull more than 3 miles and have been hunting them for 30 years. Packing an elk 1 mile in steep country is an extreme challenge for most. If you are really in shape, you can pack them multiple miles but it can be brutal, even when you at your peak. The amount of time you...

    Antelope numbers and tags issued?

Did you hunt a different time of year the last time? Was it a drought year like this year? I know in many of the areas I hunt, the animals were in vastly different places than years before. Antelope are one of the species the biologists typically have a very good count on. It's pretty rare...

Not enough service to watch the video. If all things are equal, the big typical is in trouble.

    The Memes Thread!

I appreciate your response. I am simply trying to understand others views. Our country is very divided right now and I believe it is a good idea to try to understand all Americans. To respond to your point of view above- I do believe you answer your own question in your earlier statement...

    The Memes Thread!

I didn't make any assumption at all. I asked a simple question. I am a minority (according to our government) and my son is black. Color doesn't mean anything to me. I'm trying to understand your point of view. You are a hunter and love the outdoors but have differing political opinions...

I do understand where you are coming from, and agree. I do believe the larger battle right now is just keeping our basic 2nd rights though. Most D's are against gun ownership and hunting in general where the R's are making their decisions based on $. I don't like the thought of lost public...

    2020 Drought Deer Antler Growth

The area I hunt was in a bad drought late summer and early fall. I did notice a few bulls with weak back forks that looked out of place for the rest of their rack. That said, I saw many that looked very good. Deer wise, I saw great antler growth on a couple but can't compare it to previous...

Imo you can get pretty awesome binoculars and a good spotting scope for 1k. I carry vortex viper 10x and love them. My leupold spotter was under 300 and is very clear at 45 power. I have looked through much more expensive glass and really don't notice enough difference to justify more expense.

What Do You Consider Long Range?

12" drop from 300 to 500? What rifle are you shooting??

What Do You Consider Long Range?

Lol Jim, very true. When presented with the fact that their bullet drops almost 6' from their 200 yard zero at 600 yards they claim "not my rifle!". I do think a lot more people are capable of making the 300-500+ yard shots these days with the advances in equipment. I'm guessing we will see...

What Do You Consider Long Range?

Long range, to me, is the range at which a shooter starts getting uncomfortable about the shot. He/she really has to focus to execute. For me, that starts at 500 yards. That is the reason I limit myself to 500 and closer in hunting situations.

    Grouse

Those old bomber sage grouse really aren't good unless you put a lot of work into them. Young ones are almost as good as the blue grouse and similar in size.
