    The Memes Thread!

Kind of like going on an Ohio State forum as a Michigan Fan. It isn't going to gain you any popularity points.

    Nebraska

The public land on the forest has pretty high pressure during the 9 day rifle season. As a rule of thumb, the whitetails hang within a mile or two of the river and the mule deer are generally off the river a ways. That said, either species can turn up about anywhere. If you have private...

What's Wrong With A Muzzle Break?

I am not a fan of them personally. For extended range sessions, I use a past pad to tame felt recoil. My main reason for not liking them is noise. Even with good ear protection, I have found I am more sensitive to the loud sound than I am actual lbs of recoil. I do believe they are a great...

How often do you change cables and strings ?

I am on my third set of stings in 12 years with my current bow. I have never "needed" to change them but do so when they show pretty good wear. Wax often and keep your bow stored in a climate controlled area and they don't wear out very fast. I probably only shoot 200 or so arrows a year...

    New Gear This Year?

I have spent a whopping $125 on new gear this year - some cheap hoodies and a new pair of rain/wind proof camo pants on clearance. I just don't need anything really so saving my money for the actual hunt expenses.

    Bow Question ???

No personal experience but I have done quite a bit of research as I was seriously bow shopping last year. Long story short, they are made by G5 and appear to be decent quality for a cheaper bow. The big negative, they are a bit slow compared to today's standards. Walmart is offering them in a...

2 Blade Fixed Broadhead, No Blood Trail

I agree with Jim. Your 2 blades should work fine on deer. If you are set on a change, consider expandable heads. They shouldn't require any tuning.

2 Blade Fixed Broadhead, No Blood Trail

Blood trails in sage/desert type dirt can be difficult to see. When blood hits that dirt it can become almost invisible immediately. Sage also has a way of hiding blood. 2 blade heads do leave a little less of a blood trail but I'm guessing she spilled enough to follow if it would have been...

How do you scout for a late/2nd season hunt

Let your glass do the walking. Spend most of your time identifying good glassing points and then plan to spend hours at each. Even if it takes 3-4 days of glassing to find a buck worth pursuing, it is better than blindly looking imo. Many hunters really struggle with that but the technique...

    antelope doe/fawn tags

No it is not normal. Wyoming had thousands more applicants this year compared to 2019 as well. Guessing many of those tags never get filled.

    Dry?

I spent the last few days scouting in SE Wyoming. It is very dry right now but vegetation still looks pretty good in the high country. Trail cameras are showing average to above average antler growth with elk. I didn't have any mule deer on camera. Guessing they are doing just fine.
