Ran the Toughest Half Marathon in the Country on May 27th. Exceeded my goal of <2hr by coming in at 1:55
Usually by mile 11, finishers try to maintain pace and just finish the race. However, being the ultra-competitive person I am, the final quarter mile was an all out sprint for 3 of us. The third runner dropped couple hundred yards before finish and I had to find another gear in my will-power gearbox to out pace the remaining competitor by a mere 3 seconds. So I got in under to hours and beat that goal by 5 minutes! I was pumped!
Now I feel ready for the mountains this fall!
Awesome i knew you would reach that goal. That race adrenaline when you competitive can really add an extra gear

Git'r done Marcus! You've got about 4 months to season! Plenty of time buddy.
It was a trip that was a reward for all my hard work so i kinda just let go on the watching stuff well down there and enjoyed my self. It was an amazing trip for sure but back to reality right when i got home

I've been in Reno with my wife who is helping take care of her ailing mother. My workout routine has gone down the crapper.
I thought I could use their stationary bike but it's an ordeal to get either of my in-laws to shut the hell up with instructions on how to use it and my father-in laws advice for exercising. I've started taking a walk in the foothills near their house and it's about 5 miles round trip. It keeps me out of the house long enough to keep my from going crazy. At least the spot where I walk is full of quail and rabbits so it keeps things interesting. I found a few deer tracks so now I've got something to go searching for. Hopefully my walks will keep me out of the house long enough to keep me from going insane.

Rode recumbent bike 40 min 50 seconds got 15 miles on cross training setting. Again i bumped my starting level up to a 5 i had been starting on 4. Makes the resistance harder and more of a workout. Legs were feeling it on the top of the routine. Felt good though to be back at it

20 minutes on the treadmill, 1000m row and then a 500m row for time in 1:36. 3x10 dips. I've mostly been riding my mountain bike lately.

Got back on the weights last night after 7-8 weeks off due to shoulder issues.
After the warm up, I felt good and it's still good this morning. I kept it very light to start. Hopefully a good sign of things to come.

Wednesday: 7 mile run 1 hour followed by running the chainsaw through 30 logs I've cut and topped out.
This weekend will entail a lot of stacking. Good workout.

First of all let me appologize for using this forum to vent a little bit.
Well I'm still at my in-laws house going crazy. I hope none of you guys ever have to deal with someone who has dementia.
Luckily my son came up for my nephews graduation from Douglas HS in Minden.
We were able to take about a 6 mile hike yesterday in the hills and got some good leg and cardio in. Found some deer sign amazingly close to the neighborhood.
