By all means share pics and shame these people on social media and forums.

I get annoyed when out of state drivers ride my ass on a highway when there are miles of empty road ahead and behind but this would absolutely cross the line and make my blood boil. Maybe set up a fire pit by your tent that is extremely close to their trailer and melt the side off it. You had no choice since they took the fire pit.

I would definitely mess with these guys. Maybe follow them around one morning and say since we are going to be sharing a camp we might as well hunt together.
lol. we have all had an experience or two with this mentality of individual.

when I was younger I was fly fishing a river and some idiot comes walking up the bank , wades into the water about 30 0r so feet upstream of me ,right into the meat of the hole into which I was casting. I wanted to rip off his face and use it for bait but I controlled myself and just walked to another hole .. after a while ,he passed me by and did the same to my brother .

my brother never said a word to him, just eased up beside him ,then crowded him into the deeper water till it overflowed his waders.
the man left and never said a word. I lmao.

I hope it was a learning experience for that guy BUT I doubt it ,those kind are clueless and never learn.

That's the special treatment that ive received by residents and especially outfitters over the years. I would never do that to anyone but have had several residents treat me with such courtesy. I don't think its just non residents that have no courtesy.
no. you are correct . it is not.

it is a result of our ME ME society

Way too much homesteading of campsites nowadays, especially with the RV?s, the forest service needs to change the rule to occupied only for 14 days. The resident thugs I have seen cruising forest service roads discourages me from leaving any valuable gear for the easy taking in most every state, heck I am nervous when I am away from camp hunting in some units that the whole camp will be stolen, especially in Colorado with all the the white trash dope smokers!

I have neighbors who take their rv to the NF about 20 miles away and leave it for a couple of months every summer and never move it. I know the Rangers have talked to them, but they do nothing about it. 14 day rule means nothing.

Wow, sorry you had to experience that ivorytip. You definitely get sympathy from me. Those other "hunters" were being total jerks and completely wrong. They probably act like that when they're not hunting too.

I understand both sides of the fence; it is very discouraging to see multiple trailers in good camping spots and not see anyone at them for a week at a time. That happened to me in Nevada this year and like another guy said I end up having to camp 5 miles further from where I am hunting cause every half decent spot has some fifth wheel in it. I ended up camping in a spot about 75 yards from another camp on the other side of some brush but I approached that other camp to make sure I wasn't putting a burr under their saddle.

A little conversation goes a long way, it wouldn't have been that hard for those other guys to approach you and for you all to figure out an amicable arrangement where everyone could have gotten along.

Not all Californians are ass hats but a good number are; I guess that can be said about people from every state though, right?

So I can relate to this situation 100%. Funny thing about it was that a Buhl douche nozzle resident set up camp right next to me. I don?t mean the camp close to me, I mean right next to me. Ok, if every camp spot is taken, and you have no choice. This was far from the case here. This is also the asshole that runs his Honda 230?s 10 miles in to the closed areas. Same asshole that rolled into my camp complaining about California hunters, only to let his kid open fire on a herd of elk with one spike in the middle at 600 yards while they were running. Also the same asshole that let his kid shoot close enough to my son to explode rocks right next to him opening fire on the same herd. Oh yeah the same asshole that mortally wounded a cow and packed up his camp before we could get down to ?inform him?. Moral of the story, not all assholes are non-residents.

I say the date the permit is issued it should be posted on the parked camper/tent/ ect ect..

After 14 days is up it becomes "Pirate law"

Bet people would start following the rules then....lol

in Idaho you need no permit for most forest campsites. only those developed by the forest service or BLM

So your one of those guys?
Nah, we like to camp where nobody else is around. If you happen to see this old green Dodge up in the hills of NV feel free to stop by for a cold brew or a hot cup of coffee depending on the weather. If you need a spot to camp, there's plenty of room.

This is pretty common in a lot of WY NF. The residents leave there RVs from August to end of October. The Rangers say nothing. I'm not a local and they always leave a note about the 16 day rule. I just throw it away since I only have a few more days of hunting left. Not a big deal for me.

I really don?t know why anyone would want to set up camp right on top of someone else even if no one were around the other camp. Of course, I am often wondering why someone would do this or that...

easy answer …. people be crazy!

but mostly it has to do with the "me first " mentality of this society.

I've seen campers set up around July, and still in the exact same spot come the end of October. I'm sure people use them, but there in great spots and I've never seen a single person around them the 4 month they've sat there.

Hook up and move it down the road 100 yards. When they come back, they'll understand.

*not condoning theft, simply making a point by obviously moving their gear down the road where it will be easy to find and make said point.

I seen one set up one time that had a tregger grill and a Honda 3000 watt generator at it. It never moved in a week that I was there. Nobody was there. Not one time.

I cant believe someone didn't steal that generator in the night. Blew my mind every time I drove by and saw it sitting there.

They probably had an insurance policy on it all just hoping someone would come by and steal it and were probably disappointed when they got back and saw it all still sitting there.
