WGFD license proposals 2022, big cuts to Antelope.

Not sure I follow you. You disagree they have CWD or disagree that hunting will help remove the diseased animals?

WGFD license proposals 2022, big cuts to Antelope.

A guy can add up previous years tags by looking at all section of the draw odds. 2021 was 3574 2020 was 3753 2019 was 3944 The reason totals are dropping is due to increased numbers of LQ tags being available to non-residents. Elk populations are doing good through most of the state. There...

    Wyoming Antelope Archery Season

That is correct for most Wyoming tags. You will want to view the specific regulation for your area once they are released to be sure. You would also likely have the option to go back with a rifle if you didn't connect during archery.

WGFD license proposals 2022, big cuts to Antelope.

General is unlimited for residents and is capped for non-residents to not exceed the total non-resident tag allotment. Basically general tag numbers are dependent on the number of LQ licenses non residents draw. Someone correct me if I am explaining it wrong.

    Fuel prices affect

It is a factor in the budget for me but I'm not going to miss a year in the mountains because of it. I am considering consolidating a fishing trip or two though.

The Curious Case of Idaho’s Disappearing Deer & Elk

With support like that, there shouldn't be any problem conducting future studies, in an area with a stable population, to prove the theory correct. It makes a lot of sense but the 30% reduction in the elk herd can also explain some of the impact to the lion population, as the article pointed...

The Curious Case of Idaho’s Disappearing Deer & Elk

The links were Interesting reading. Our group has noticed a shift in elk behavior over the past 20 years in some areas we hunt. This may explain some of that. I do think more studies have to be done by non biased groups, on stable herds, before hard conclusions should be drawn, as was noted...

    Wyoming Unit 72

They didn't cut any tags there so would assume they are doing ok. With cuts in so many other areas I would assume you see more people apply there.

WGFD license proposals 2022, big cuts to Antelope.

Glad to see drastic cuts in some of the areas we saw were down last fall. On a bright note, guys waiting for an area 61 tag will have more permits to pull from. Seems like the Red Desert herd must be doing better.

Or the situation changed with predators... didn't you support that?

Wyoming Passes 90/10: The Worst Article You’ll Read This Year - by Guy Eastman

Smh... not even you can really believe the stuff you type lol. My odds of drawing an antelope tag last year was 100%. The previous year was less than 50%. The year before that is was less than 1% in the random. I have quite a few more examples that would prove your statement wrong.

Wyoming Passes 90/10: The Worst Article You’ll Read This Year - by Guy Eastman

Every person on both sides of this issue understand there will be fluctuations in tags. Non-residents are owed what we were sold. Predictability and reasonable assurance that over time, our chances of drawing a tag will increase.

Wyoming Passes 90/10: The Worst Article You’ll Read This Year - by Guy Eastman

Jim, I used that word but the Game and Fish used the word ultimately. In either case, that is no longer true since 90/10 has passed.

Wyoming Passes 90/10: The Worst Article You’ll Read This Year - by Guy Eastman

None of what you typed has anything to do with my post. I think you are agreeing with me in a strange way? No applicant in 2010 thought it would take 120 years... if that were the case, they wouldn't have sold all those points.

Wyoming Passes 90/10: The Worst Article You’ll Read This Year - by Guy Eastman

Actually they did Jim. Do you really think I would be posting and arguing if what you stated was true? Wyoming Game and Fish knowingly marketed the preference point system as a way to guarantee an applicant would eventually draw. The exact quote reads "A preference point system will...

Wyoming Passes 90/10: The Worst Article You’ll Read This Year - by Guy Eastman

Seriously Buzz.... Using your logic, a person starting preference points for moose in 2010 should have known they would have to live to be 120 before drawing? There were 1247 moose applicants total applying for 100 permits that year. A couple areas took max but there were many tags drawing...

Wyoming Passes 90/10: The Worst Article You’ll Read This Year - by Guy Eastman

We all know it isn't in the regulations now. Neither are the advertisements that are sent out regularly in an effort to get non-residents to buy more points. The WG&F is on record stating that the preference point system will ultimately guarantee an applicant a license. That was the message...

I agree - 10% max of total tags. I believe the rest has yet to be decided.
