    Does it makes sense anymore?

Pre 90/10, non-residents actually required fewer points for many of the premium tags. For instance, area 38 moose was drawn at 23 points for non-residents and 25/26 points for residents. I am guessing even post 90/10 he is going to have a very long wait if a tag like that is his goal.

    Does it makes sense anymore?

I think for someone starting new it makes a lot less sense than it did. It is hard to learn if you can't draw tags fairly frequently. For those experienced, I think it makes more sense than ever to have multi state strategies so a tag can be drawn more than once every 5-10 years.

Once in a Liftetime tag? Then what..?

I can't speak for sheep or goats but every hunter I know that has hunted moose wanted to hunt moose again- They are a fun animal to hunt.

    The Wild Game Eats Thread...

Had good stuff last night - Reverse seared antelope strap, garlic butter mushrooms, garlic parmesan baked asparagus and a side salad. Unfortunately it was our last package of antelope steak from last fall. Sure wish the population was doing better. It may be a while before I get this for...

WGFD license proposals 2022, big cuts to Antelope.

Completely understand where you are coming from. A hunter shouldn't feel guilty filling a permit issued by the state agency in charge of managing that resource. That said, I think they are doing a crappy job in the management department so I can see why some residents are taking matters into...

    Price of outfitted hunts

Your average low level employee is making double what they were 1-2 years ago in my area. Outfitters have been forced to drastically increase wages in many areas just to get/keep qualified guides. There may be some price gouging going on but outfitters are seeing much higher costs across the...

Corner crossing...off to federal court we go.

It is different state to state but the case law generally views it as the landowner owns at least as much of the space above the ground as he can occupy or use in connection with the land. For public flight purposes it is generally 500' to 1000'.

    Fresh Water Ponds

This appears to be a good resource. No personal experience to add. https://www.mosquitosquad.com/greater-dc/about-us/blog/mosquito-control/how-to-keep-mosquitoes-out-of-your-pond/ "Don’t fall victim to the myth of the mosquitofish, as this species isn’t actually as helpful in eliminating...

    How to cook rabbit meat?

We talking cotton tail or jack rabbit? If a cottontail, follow any low and slow pork or chicken recipe. It is great to eat if you take your time cooking. If it's a jack rabbit, I recommend following pressure cooking recipes for very tough meat. I personally don't care for the jacks.

Agree, it will be quite a while for Colorado.

WGFD license proposals 2022, big cuts to Antelope.

I believe whether you support it or not, 90/10 is where all western states are going. It's inevitable due to growing populations in those states, decreasing animal populations, and increased awareness by resident hunters. It will sting for a while but the non-resident hunter will still get...

    Any gardeners on here?

My coworker got a countertop garden for Christmas. He said it is pretty amazing.

I would agree, random is the way to go. I would rather have the option to roll my moose points into other species instead of having them turn into bonus points.

    Any gardeners on here?

I remember the days of 60 hour weeks and no time to garden. A friend turned us onto growing in large pots- basically ag feed barrels. It really cut the labor to basically nothing but watering and harvest. Yields aren't as good but you don't have to weed and the number of potential pests drops...

    .243 Bullet Question

My boys youth rifles have done well with the 95 grain SST for antelope, whitetail, and mule deer. They do expand a lot up close but at typical antelope distance, they seem to perform very well for us

Definitely not discounting either of you guys. I had no idea that was the intention. Guessing the luster of the late tags May be lowered knowing the bucks have a good chance of being positive... Idk?

    Corner Crossing

It will be interesting how the fund raising goes post the 90/10 vote. I think fewer non-residents are going to be willing to spend money on the cause based on threads I'm reading on other forums.
