    Finally! Wyoming Bound in 12hrs.

Truck is 1/2 packed, gear lists triple checked, heading west at 7pm! Got about 2-1/2 days after arrival to find em before the opener. Got to scout the area in person this year, the anticipation made it hard to get to sleep last night.

4 mile run this morning then got some things around for departure. Not sure how many times a guy can pack and re-pack before it becomes obsession hahaha.

    Where do we begin?

Just going to keep adding to the already great responses above.... 1st and most important advice I can offer is to JUST GO FOR IT!!! Seriously, don’t let any excuses get in your way, if money is the snag, save until you can afford it, if it’s time save all of your vacation, lack of experience -...

    hiking vs jogging to prepare

Public Land Colorado - Highest of Highs & Lowest of Lows

Tough pill to swallow there! Congrats to you and your wife on still a very successful hunt.

    hiking vs jogging to prepare

I agree with both above. Strong legs are useless without lung capacity and running is definitely not loaded down hiking. I can easily run 10-13 miles through the woods or road but 3.5 miles with a 65lb pack puts a whole new kind of strain on the body. I’d run 3 days/wk and do a loaded hike like...

    Best Western Caliber?

Not to threadjack....But I just wanna know how they’re getting 3395 outta a 6.5-300 pushing 140’s hahaha dang. My most accurate are 3255 and at 3300 they’re not awful. But that’s another 100fps.

    Range Day CDS Testing

Just got done testing out my CDS dial from Leupold on my 6.5-300WBY. Even though it’s set for 8000’, here at 2000 this morning I was ringing steel consistently at 300, 500 & 600yds.....I’d say it’s on. Now I reload and wait, 12 days and counting.
