Not sure who you’re calling a Democrat… not me for sure. And very few on this Forum probably.

^ True They did not like the “Random” option though, I’m pretty sure they’re not going that route.

Draw Process Working Group Recommendations on Primary Draw Methods & Preference Points

^ Maybe, but I was impressed by the Commissioners today. They all ask good questions and seemed like they really wanted to do the best they could for Colorado hunters and wildlife.

Draw Process Working Group Recommendations on Primary Draw Methods & Preference Points

Yeah, they talked about that a little bit also. It didn’t sound like a totally random draw would ever be approved by the Commissioners.

Draw Process Working Group Recommendations on Primary Draw Methods & Preference Points

They discussed it but won’t do it because it would wipe out all the points some people have saved up over years … or decades.

I know CC. So do I, but that’s what they want to stop to reduce point creep.

Draw Process Working Group Recommendations on Primary Draw Methods & Preference Points

That’s exactly what the recommended choice (4A) is on how to use preferences points. All Primary Choices (All 4 choices) would use points. Not just the 1st choice like it is now. The 50/50 split is another recommendation on how to conduct the draw. They are both recommended.

My mistake, I thought you were asking about ELK hunting, which is what unit 61 is known for.

You are comparing apples to oranges. Unit 61, 2nd season is a borderline Blue-Chip Unit which you could get with 13 points as a Resident (nonresident takes 24 points). Unit 30, 3rd season is an OTC hunt and doesn't require any points. Unit 61 is by far the better hunt of the two. Shoot me a PM...
