    Alberta Bowhunting Sheep Video

Would have loved to have done this back when I was young, just too damn old now. Back when I was young, we didn't have all the lightweight great hunting gear. a lot was military surplus and heavy as hell. I remember back in the late 50's/early 60's when the Kelty pack first came out, it was...

    Non-resident cow elk

The only antelope OTC tags are left overs, no regular OTC tags for antelope here in Colorado.

    Non-resident cow elk

I completely agree with both of you. I only apply for NR tags in Wyoming and California. I will not ever apply in Calif again for a lot of reasons I will not go into here. Wyoming is another story. I quit applying for NR elk tags about 10 years ago and after I use my points for antelope and...

It's That Time Of The Year Again!

Our local Safeway Market has it's prime rib roasts on sale. I bought one last night for less than $6.00/lb. It weighted almost 20# and cost me $106.00. I cut off the rib section and cut 16 ribeye steaks off the rest. I am going to grill the ribs this weekend and vacume packed the steaks...

    Sheep at last

Older guns, especially quality ones, still work fine. I have a Ruger M77 (tang safety) in 25-06 that I bought new in 1970 that I use as my go to gun for deer & antelope. I have probably killed 100 or more deer & antelope with it and it still shoots moa groups.

    Guided Elk Hunt

I have never been on a guided elk hunt here in Colorado. I have 12 points and I am looking for suggestions from Forum members who have actually been with the outfitter they are suggesting. I don't think I can do anymore wilderness hunts as my 83 year old body is wearing out! I have been on...

    Packing and Heading out

Luckily for us the storm was before hunting season. If we would have been our camp area, we would have been in deep Do Do! The road has some spots that are pretty bad and the snow covering them up would make it pretty bad.

    Packing and Heading out

Well I'm home!! We left home early Wednesday and the further east we went, the more it snowed. We went via Chama, NM because Wolf Creek Pass was solid ice and a mess. It wasn't much better from Chama to Antonito. We got there about 2:00 PM and there was about 12" of snow on the ground and it...
