Anti's trying to ban Mountain Lion and Bobcat Hunting

I voted against it when I turned in my ballot last week. I see quite a few yard signs against 127 in Cortez and a lot of postings on Facebook against it.

    Weather in SW Colorado

This weekend should be great for deer & elk hunters here in SW Colorado. We have snow now at the higher altitudes and rain at lower elevations. I have heard that the elk are starting to move around more now that the hot weather has left. Those that have first season tags should be prepared for...

    Knee Pads

I have 2 replacement knees too. My advice is the bigger the better. I bought some off of a military clothing/supplies site that I like pretty well. Straps have velcro instead of snaps or buckles. They are camo too and look military style or surplus items.

CPW is accepting statewide applications for the Sportsperson’s Roundtable through Nov. 8

I have applied for about 15 years and never even received an interview. I really believe they already know who they want and they are just going thru the process.

    Wyoming antelope areas

I have taken a few big bucks, one measured 78 and change. 15" (probably even 14 depending on mass and cutter length) would have my tag on it! tag on it!

    Wyoming antelope areas

The units I normally hunt have taken more points to draw, especially in the last 10 years. The herds have been hit with higher than normal winter kill due to pretty bad winters. The tag numbers for NR hunters have really taken a hit. My favorite unit used to have lots of does tags, last year...

    Gun cases

I use both depending on how I am hunting. In my sxs I use a hard case. Colorado requires guns to be unloaded completely and enclosed in a case. I usually am driving so my gun is in a hard case. My passenger can use a soft zippered case because he can hold it to keep it from bouncing around.

    Hunters First Animal

It is really wonderful to see the posts and pictures of someone's first animal taken, no matter what species. I am really impressed with the last 2 posts, each one a young ladies first Elk and Bear. It gives me hope that we are leaving our sport to some great young hunters who will follow along...
