How many of you will get the Covid shot?

Not an anti-vaxxer by any stretch of the imagination. I have all my shots, my wife does, and my kids do. I believe in vaccines. But, aren't you just a bit skeptical of a vaccine that has been rushed to market in under a year? I'll get it, probably as soon as I'm allowed/offered, because: You...

    Christensen arms

I have one, chambered in 300wm. It's fine. Mine shoots really well, best group was right at at .5moa, but I do know they have some quality control issues, lots of guys complaining about them on various forums, facebook, etc. So ,aybe I just got lucky with one of the good ones. It's a BIG gun...

    Beef Brisket - smoking/grilling

Love my brisket sliced super think like that, you know it's tender and good, when you can eat it in 3/8th inch think slices! I haven't done one in a while, just can't stomach paying the going rate right now.. I think they're nearly $7 a pound here right now..

battling covid19 and why I love my job

1, Congrats to your son and his wife! 2, I'm sorry about your dog, my lab is aging, and has me worrying. 3, My wife works for a Diagnostic Imaging company, and has been in her clinic every day since this all began. She's been exposed countless times, I'm sure, as they just do not have the...

No good man, been a rough couple summers here in the midwest, between the flooding and the wind. Hope you all can get it all back together soon.

    I want a new smoker

Oops, just reread your post. The WSM is not big enough to do 2 briskets and multiple pork butts. But it’s still a kickass little smoker.

    I want a new smoker

I switched to a traeger a few months back, and I do love it, everything I’ve smoked on it has been outstanding, right down to bratwurst and Italian sausages. but......... for big, hearty, fatty slabs of red meat, like a brisket, much like there’s no replacement for displacement, you just can’t...

    Ok Folks, serious question here

I only play the air piano, and only on my kids heads, when we listen to “Call me the breeze” by lynyrd skynyrd

    NA10 Most Bow-Hunt-Able animals...?

Brown bear is doable with a bow, I know a guy that stuck one a few years back. Watching the video of the bear standing up on two legs just before he gets shot is pretty hairy.... Logistically, it would be difficult... getting there, finding an outfitter, dealing with weather.. I think of any...

If you could change your profession, what would it be?

I’m guessing you’d probably change your tune after your first day... not sure if I’d change much of my career so far. My wife had lots of opportunities to do traveling work, and I’ve always had the ability to work remote. I do wish we would have taken the opportunity to do work travel before...

    Alternate Venison Roast usage

Agree with a lot of the above. I really like to smoke mine to medium rare, then slice for sandwiches. We really like to make jerky with ours, or cut into chunks and make a venison and potato stew. Philly cheesesteaks are awesome. I'm a pretty big fan of beef burgundy, and often substitute...

    Christenson Arms Ridgeline

They just added 6.5 PRC, 300 win mag, 300PRC and 28 Nosler to their left handed options in both the Mesa and Ridgeline...... Which makes me really sad as a Lefty. Wonder if they'd just trade me in my righty 300 for a lefty?!

    Christenson Arms Ridgeline

I went with a Viper PST 3-15x44. You might not shoot at critters from 6-700 yards away, but it would be fun to ring steel from distance.

    Christenson Arms Ridgeline

As Kabob says, I've got one in 300 win mag. I like the gun, and it's a shooter, but it is a BIG rifle. 26" barrel is long. overall weight isn't bad, but it's a bit of an unwieldy rifle to hunt with. I'll have to go look, but I believe I got mine down to shooting .65 inch groups with factory...

    camp cocktails

Depends on what kind of camp I'm in. Elk camp in a 1 man tent, 4 miles from the truck? I like just a little sip or two of a good bourbon before bed. Deer or duck camp in the cabin? The choices are endless, but usually just a good Stout or IPA

    Chainsaw Sharpener

I do use my dremmel grinder tip to grind down the depth gauge on my chains. I like throwing wood chips when I cut, not saw dust!

    Chainsaw Sharpener

I quit sharpening my chains a long time ago.. For $3, my Stihl dealer sharpens them way sharper than I can get them, and I can have them resharpened quite a few times. Time is money, and not sharpening chains saves my delicate fingers.

    Early Archery Elk - 6a

Thanks Bohntr, the quite areas are definitely on my list of places to check out. I'd heard that there were elk in the cedars, will also look into it. Finding a little bit of solitude will be more important than total inches. ***SHOOT! I totally forgot to mention that I'm not looking for...
