Good luck on it JJ. We'll be anxious to hear how you do. You're more ambitious than I am, tougher too!

Good luck JJ. Spent the morning doing a 4 mile hike checking to make sure the Spot was up to par and pulling camera cards. No issues with it at all. Took a little break then went to hang one stand and check a few more for deer season.

Had the Spot set on tracking mode.

A little tree stand hanging.

Well the run went well other than a volunteer pointing us all in the wrong direction, which ended up making us have to run the same loop twice. Biggest thing that sucked was having to go up this nasty mile long straight up hill two times instead of one. It was a gorgeous day for a run, overcast, cool temps and in the mountains. I ended up 7th out of the 13 runners with a time of 2 hours 43 minutes, and the course had 4500 feet in elevation gained and lost.

After reading this thread for many months now and some time thinking about my poor health (weight). I want you to be there for the family as i get older and physical be able to enjoy time with them and in the field hunting. Im going to start working on getting back in to shape. So today i started of with a mile walk and then for some strength with a little cardio i took the axe out and broke up stumps that are in my back hard from trees that were cut down for about 45 mins. We will see how sore i am in the morning. Tommorrow ill do abs and some cardio.

Thats a great start. I started almost a year ago trying to get back into shape. So far I am down 27 pounds and am in probably the best health I have been in the last 15 years. Its taken 10 month to get back. It sure the heck doesn't happen over night and it sure the hell isnt easy, but take your time, be consistent, and don't beat yourself up if you miss a day of exercise or eat two too many pieces of pie (that was me last night...argh..). Put the work in and you'll get there.

Fantastic start! 1 mile is a great distance on your first walk.

Thanks yeah some times being to hard on your self for mistakes is bad. Figure this is a great place to have some extra support and get ideas. I have gone through this before about 6 years ago i dropped about 105 pounds in 11 months. Was spending 3 hours in the gym and running. Well i ended up with some knee issues from my 5 mile runs and then the time to do it started slipping away for various reasons and i pack the weight pack on and then a lite more.

Well yesterday got out of work super late covering a call off shift so only got an ab work out in 10 sets of 10 crunches. 3 sets of 15 bicycle crunches. And 2 sets of 10 lunges. Today i worked on the rest of the stumps in my yard. Push mowed the yard for an hour and then went on a 2.5 mile walk.
