Keep us posted. Knowing people read this makes a difference for me, and provides encouragement.

I am wore out after reading all that. I am 60 and I have got to start doing something to get fit, guess I will unbox the weight bench I bought several months ago, and try to get started. Not ready to throw in the towel just yet.
I am 73 now and am in better shape than I was at 50. I go to the gym 3 to 4 days a week. Mostly working on cardio stuff. I do 15 to 20 mins of stretching and then work on elliptical and treadmill for another hour. I just restarted back a couple of weeks ago after 9 months of doing nothing. I had a total ankle replacement in November and got the ok to start back at the gym a couple of weeks ago. Ankle fine...no pain or swelling. Should be ready for this fall.

Now is the time to get started....you are never too old or too out of shape! Baby steps ....one day at a time. Good Luck!

Update: Did a 2 mile brisk walk today with some up & down hills. Tired and ankle a little sore, but really pleased with everything!

16.46 miles today at the house with my dog, she loves to run with me. Working on building up my long run distance, going to run either 12 or 14 tomorrow. Current running streak is at 43 days and 333.9 miles for an average of 7.8 miles per day.

Last night did a 5 round circuit of push ups, squat slams, dumb bell squat presses, sledge hammer and tire, and a fast run around the block. After that I did DB bench press and some ab work.

Was brutal, but feels good today.

Yesterday was a bear! Spent my usual 1 1/2 hours at the gym in the early am. Spent the rest of the day hauling and spreading 3 loads of gravel on my new boat cover project. Have to finish this today as the contractor is starting tomorrow. Shoulders a little stiff. Lots of excersize and have now lost 10# since I got the Dr's ok to start back at the gym a month ago!

I am working the upper body with the P90X videos; finally recovered enough from some wrist and shoulder issues (from a bad mule). As soon as the snow melts enough will start hand splitting 16 cords of maple and birch firewood. I've learned to do my work first, and then exercise later if necessary, as the tank sometimes runs out of gas otherwise.
CC; I hope you know when to stop. I can't picture you as a 130# marathon runner.

do any of you guys do cardio or is it all weight lifting? just curious.
I seem to be all cardio and very little weights.

I work out whenever I can. Ends up being weights 2-3 week, cardio 1-2 times. Cardio is usually elliptical with incline and heavier resistance.

Last night was chest. Starting to rep my heaviest ever on bench press a bit easier but ole lady was there to spot.

Have increased my squats quite a bit too. Looks like everyone is doing great. Keep it up!

Mine is a combination of weight and cardio. Almost like climbing a hill in the backcountry.

with no winter this year, my hills I walk in the morning are snow and ice free, I will be starting to climb them again.
fricken no show of a winter has been a big bummer. I will get on the bike tonight.

it is amazing what snow does to my demeanor. No snow, no way to burn stress. I miss dropping cornices.

Well Gentleman even though I was in Hawaii I did sneak a peak or two at the forum to make sure you were not slackin! Sitting here in the Portland airport doing some catch up while I wait for my final flight home. The only exercise I got was one day chasing Axis deer. I am happy (or unhappy) to report that the population is still quite stable with no net loss of game on my part. I could have taken a doe or two but saw a awesome buck that kept my attention to no avail. Would have been a chip shot with a rifle!
As I sit here the devil and angel on my shoulders are arguing about whether or not I should attend the dreaded Powerfit class in the am. I am glad I pulled this thread up to give me the motivation not to sleep in!
