Yeah, I complained about how much stuff we had the other day. we decided to work on cleaning out some storage stuff. It turned out a lot of the stuff was mine, so I had to eat my foot and we kept most of it.

Did upper body and arms today. I also hit the Jacobs ladder for 8 intense minutes tough stuff right there. It is about the closest thing to climbing at altitude I have found. Love hate relationship. A word of advice if anyone tries it, warm up for a few minutes on the thread mill or stairmaster and when you are done cool down on the tread mill for a few minutes.

Well, here goes this mornings workout. My space heater doesn't do well when it is this cold out there.

Chest, tris and abs. Push ups are the focus this morning for chest primarily.

Ran the Cowtown Half Marathon yesterday in Fort Worth. 34 degrees and a light rain/mist/fog thing going on. Roads were wet but they got the ice cleared, just a little slush here and there.

Was shooting for an "A" goal of 1:38:01 for a 7:29 avg pace and finished with an official time of 1:36:42 for a 7:23 avg pace! That beat my personal best time for a half marathon of 1:43:26 by over 30 seconds per mile although my previous personal best was on a tougher course.

Pretty happy with that especially considering the course conditions.

had a fun ride yesterday. 12 miles, 3000 feet of climbing, the nonexistent winter has allowed us to get on trails that should be under 4 feet of snow, right now.

18 Months of life altering severe plantar faciitis finally ended for me. Pinched nerve disabling right arm & heart surgery did not help things, but the foot was horrendous. I can actually run again. My fiancée has never even seen me at my proper weight, so she has a surprise coming.

Picked a great year not to draw ANY primo tags last year. Now got 20 years worth of points (300+) for incentive to get back in shape. Will take it slow. Just thrilled to be able to run again. Am 55.

This morning was a good one.

5 rounds of dumb bell dead lift, medicine ball slams, oblique work, medicine ball squats, and bent over rows.

Then 3 rounds of push ups, hammer curls, and then beating the tire.

What brand medicine ball are you using? I have had two break slamming them. As much as I would like to think it was my superior strength that caused the mishap....

On the road in Reno, but was able to hit the gym this morning. 15 min of cardio followed by 4 circuits of dumbbell shoulder press, pull ups, chest press, lunges, cable rows, and leg press.

I am wore out after reading all that. I am 60 and I have got to start doing something to get fit, guess I will unbox the weight bench I bought several months ago, and try to get started. Not ready to throw in the towel just yet.

Jod you got to start somewhere. I am only a few years younger then you and feel better now then I did 10 years ago. I made a commitment to myself about three years ago to get in shape. After a few false starts I got going in the right direction and have not looked back. Just make sure to start easy. We aint as young as we used to be so work up to it. I look at this thread almost everyday and these guys keep me motivated to keep at it on the days I want to say just screw it. I look forward to reading your post also!
