How as everyone been doing on the coyote hunting in 2013?

Mine started off crappy with loosing my remote to my Foxpro then my decoy crapped out on me. I picked up a Primos Alpha Dogg caller and a Mojo Critter, went out last sunday and on the first set got a double haulin ass to the decoy. My partner that was with me got excited and shot at the lead dog at 200 yards with him on the run! Needless to say he missed and blew the set. I let loose 5 shots at the back dog with my AR 223 with not luck, I cant hit shiz on the run. Either way we had fun and my buddy got his education on dog hunting after that one.

I hope to go out this sunday to a spot where I saw a dog that looked like a friggin German Shepard with 3 others.

How bout you?

I haven't had the opportunity to get out either, still trying to make my German Wirehaired Pointer Duke happy! I hope to get out in February, this place is crawling with dogs. Good luck to you IKIC and all others, kill them all!!!

I've been hunting quail off my quad and take along my old Winchester M70 223, just in case we jump any yotes while riding. Well last two weeks I saw a dog and each time it was haulling a*s, and yes I missed them both!! (darn) Yea, guess you can say I'm a bad shot when they are runnin too. I did get lots of shooting done on some valley and Mt qual and managed to put some in the frying pan for lunch, yummy.

Dad and I have been out a few times this fall/winter. We are having the best year yet. We are probably close to 70-80% on our sets with dogs called in. With our fabulous shooting skills our kill % is slightly lower. Those things are a pain in the a$$ to hit on the run. I'll try to post a few pics when I get home from work.

Hahah ya they hit hyper speed after the first shot! You guys sound like your doing well.
Almost to well. I keep waiting to wake up from the dream we are in. We really haven't been shooting all that bad. They just seem to keep coming in from the wrong direction and catching our wind. Then the flury starts. I was over your way on Tuesday and Wednesday and saw 8 dogs on the trip. I've got to get over there for some callin!

There are tons of dog here. Problem we have is there are so many people calling the dogs get educated pretty quick and stop coming into calls. If you get out off the beat'n path they dogs come running. I've got a few spot I know they haven't been called that I will try soon. Won't make it out this Sunday but will be out soon.

Hey IKIC & DR, I'll be heading over towards your neck of the woods after our annual Super Bowl trap shoot and BBQ at a ranch in Standish. Going to hunt dogs for 4 or 5 days next week in the rim country N/W of Gerlach.....should be pretty good but don't know how the X5B fire messed with the critters.

Good luck. I heard the fire was up far north. My bro in law hunted around Fox Mt I think and no sign of the fire in that area. Sounds like a good time with the SB party!

Sweet! I'm a little jealous. I will be working on Super Bowl day, usually we try and make it out to the desert on that day because no one is out there;)

That fire swallowed 95% of that unit. How that will affect coyote hunting, I am anxious for your report.
