Postponed the opening day trip until the end of the month... too much snow has the birds in huge groups on pastures. Give them some nice weather and they'll be spread out and more accessible. Plus the area I hunt is supposed to get hammered with another blizzard this weekend. SOON! Very SOON!!!

The forecast keeps getting worse for us here in central Nebraska. Accuweather is showing 3-5" of snow for my area with record lows predicted... 9 degrees. I'm actually considering not going out Saturday with my little guy. I have never tried to call birds in when the weather is that cold and snow on the ground. Any of you guys ever had luck when it's that bad?
Find the big groups and get in their way, couple decoys and some light calling should get one to come over and say hi.

Big blow going on here now. Should calm down tomorrow evening. Saw four groups yesterday all fanning and following hens.
Going to try and find a sling cap and stud screw for my 11-87. I'm tired of hiking so much and carrying that thing.

We are in National Forest hence the hiking :)

Good luck everyone.

I did a little bit of scouting yesterday and found all the turkeys still down in the bottoms and private. I took a road just above them and not a single track to be found. I did see a few toms putting on a show for the ladies.

Half a day last Saturday turned up a lone Tom about a mile away. Closed the distance, and never seen him again.
Currently have 70 mph wind gust in SE Wyoming, with a little bit of snow. Going to hold out till Sunday afternoon to take my son out again.

We are into the 80's today and tomorrow. I'm going to do my annual top of the mountain, hear him gobbling and get in close and have him walk within gun range will I'm recording with my phone, trip in the morning. Has happened the last 3 years or so at this spot a couple of weeks before the season starts. Should be the first good morning that I have will have the opportunity to scout. On a side note, on the commute to and from work, I have seen a large tom at a residence, strutting all around a cage of chickens for the past 2 weeks. He is a "tame" wild turkey with some identity issues.

Headed out shortly for a California hunt with my son. First hunt together in 5 years as hes been in college. He set this hunt up for me on his buddies farm. Super stoked

Son was able to get his second bird today in one of our limited entry state parks. Made it worth getting up at 330 this morning!

I don't even see these options being available as I can't upload file from my I-phone. It says the format is invalid. I have to e-mail to my pc and then upload. This is the reason I don't post many pictures. Be nice to figure out this uploading feature.

I had the same problem. Not a very easy process. I down loaded Tapatalk and it makes it much easier.

The option is only available on the Tapatalk app. I will only use the app to post pics because it is not very easy to navigate.
