    Alternate Venison Roast usage

Cook them in some V8, that will liven them up a little and for a little bit more spice use Spicy V8 I cooked up some deer rounds the other night that I had pounded with flour and then cooked them in enough V8 to cover them in a sauce pan. They came out great.

    jocularity

When You're 70 & a Veteran I was standing at the bar at the VFW one night minding my own business. This fat ugly chick came up behind me, grabbed my behind and said, "You're kinda cute. You gotta phone number?" I said, "Yeah, you gotta pen?" She said, "Yeah, I got a pen". I said, "You better...

    Happy Father's Day !!!

My dad never did have the time to go hunting or fishing once he had a family to support. It didn't help any with traveling around to all the western states for the company that he worked for along with dragging two kids and my mom with him. Then when I hit high school he was in the veterans...

    DEATH BY A TICK?!

That's the one problem with Permethrin is that you still need to use a good repellent with deet on your exposed skin. It would be quite easy for a tick to get into your hair and embed itself on your head. That is if you still have hair..

    Grizzly Bear in Southern Wyoming

They have always been moving but sightings are quite rare. I remember back in the mid to late 70's when one got hit by a truck while crossing I-80 in Utah just to the west of Park City.

    DEATH BY A TICK?!

Permethrin, Permethrin, Permethrin, Permethrin, Permethrin, did I mention Permethrin? In the camping aisle at your local Walmart, on Amazon, and various other places. You can even purchase it at your local farming supply store in concentrate form but you then need to dilute it down to a 0.5%...

    First Fire of the Year

I have watched turkeys feeding in the freshly burned areas. Once the plants start coming back so do the bugs. The biggest problem is roost trees but as long as the larger trees still have stable limbs for them to roost on they should be fine.

    firearm purchase help.

I'd just sit down with him and have a long talk about what he is thinking. Other than that and I am no lawyer or even a Dr I doubt that there is anything that can restrict him from purchasing one if he can answer all the questions on the 4473 form. Section 11.f would be what would be in...

    First Fire of the Year

While it will be rough this year, next year it should be great for game and hunting. I was in the Book Cliffs of eastern Utah back in 2002 when a real hot fire went through them. About a month after the fire the elk and deer were found in the burned off areas of it just chowing down on the...

Why Did The Snake Cross The Road

A fast night crawler will scare me to death if it startles me. Other than that I am fine with snakes. Even when I hiked into a den site in Arizona and saw a huge rattler that I would of loved to of made into a trophy, except he had started to crawl under a rock. I thought that I could just...
