    E-Bikes For Hunting?

I have similiar views. Around here we see increased use on trails meant for bicycles and the Forest Service is having problems coming up with a policy for their use in the NF. Use them where you use ohv's and on roads , no problem, but that's it as far as I'm concerned.

    E-Bikes For Hunting?

What type of use are you talking about? Similar to OHV's or unlimited off road.

What would be your dream hunt?

If you could pick any hunt, for any animal, anyplace in the world......what would you choose? Forget about any limitations you might have be it physical, monetary or otherwise. As long as you are dreaming, go for it. For me it is not an exotic sheep hunt or Africa's big 5, it would be an...

What Is Your Favorite Gun To Shoot???

First is my Custom .220 Ackley Improved Swift. I made the thumbhole stock and it absolutely vaporizes prairie dogs with my handloads at over 4,000 fps. Then my 25-06 deer/antelope rifle. It's a M77 Ruger with a tang safety. Bought it in 1968 or 69 and have shot a ton of animals with it. Next...

If you could change your profession, what would it be?

That's why young retirees often keep working doing "their passion". I did a lot of leather work, stock making and and making knives after I retired.

Gloves - 2019 State of the Union

I'm pretty old school about a lot of things. I really like the gloves I was issues when I was in basic training in the Army in the middle of winter in 1963. They are 2 piece. There are some really warm wool gloves with leather shells that slide over the wool ones when It is really cold or wet. I...

    Grizzly / Wolf question

When I was hunting Thorofare in the Teton Wilderness, saw grizzlies and wolves almost everyday. They had really put a dent in the deer, elk & moose population. Saw lots of bones from their kills. Only saw 1 deer, 1 moose and about 20 elk in 6 days of hunting. I became a believer in managing...

If you could change your profession, what would it be?

My Dad owned a gun shop many years ago. In my opinion you need to offer more than any of the big box stores. The biggest problem around here is finding a good gunsmith. If a gun shop owner could offer the space for a 'smith to operate out of his shop, I believe you could do well. I know most of...
