Leaving in the morning for Montrose for the first big shoot of the year. I'm probably a little rusty as I haven't shot since last October, but will be a blast anyway.

The really bad thing about this (a least for me) is that that area is home to a lot of wild turkeys. I have hunt it a lot, so we'll see next spring what happens.

They just closed Hwy 160 between Durango and Mancos/Cortez. I took the last picture I posted today from Hwy 160.

Not yet. There is no storms or lightning, but it is pretty windy, could have been a tree or limb into a power line.

Got a fire going near the entrance to Mesa Verde NP. No lightning, but windy. Hope they get it out soon. From my deck, lookin east.

Go to Search in the upper right hand corner of this screen. Open and check titles only the type in the title: Enclosed Cargo/Hunting Trailer Conversion. Click on search and it comes up. I just did it.

My favorite area in the whole state! We used to camp in the campground at Hell's Half Acre when it was open. Good food and a bar....who could ask for more after a good day of hunting. Sad to see it gone.....

Went on a field trip yesterday to some juniper filled BLM land with our County Recreation Commission (which I am a member of) and literally got ate up by these damn critters. My eyes are almost swelled shut and I have bites all over my face and head. Used bug juice, but don't think it had enough...

That's my son, he was 25 at the time. Young, single buck for sure!

The antelope pix is my best friend. It was a really nice buck antelope, the best we took on that trip. Dad is in the pix skinning the deer. He is on his knees and wearing sunglasses.

Picture was from 30 years ago when you used to be able to buy 5 extra deer and 5 extra antelope type 6 tags. Spent a lot of time working on the meat. I took a 5 cu ft freezer and butchered , packaged and froze most of my meat in camp.. Dads passed and my son is going to be 55 this year, where...

Cleaning out and reorganizing some old hunting files and found some pictures from 1990. My Dad , son and best friend and myself on the trip. We ended up with 10 deer and 7 antelope.
