My experience is that mule deer are nocturnal most of the year, winter excepted. I have probably 100 to 150 mulies around my place and except for when there's snow on the ground, they feed early evening, all night and early morning. Weather plays a big role too. Wind, rain and snow will change...

I've hunted it several times, but always on private prop. Not the numbers of animals as other units, but I've seen some good bucks. The roads , as mentioned, can be a bitch.

My Dad knew Roy and I used to go with him to their original shop in South Gate, Ca. When I started building custom pistol grips, I used to get a lot of "cutoff" wood from them to make the grips. I dated Ed's sister Diane a few times too. Nice gal, but just not my type!

It was fun, even tho I didn't get to shoot the 2 days. Got to spend some time with one of my buds who came from California to shoot with me. Got to catch up on a lot of things since we were antelope hunting together in Wyoming last October.
