I shot a buck deer many years ago that was a stag (no balls). His horns were still in velvet and really deformed and he was really fat. Not chasing does, just eating. One of the best eating deer I have ever shot. Never know, he could have been sterile.

I was born & raised in southern California, lived there 58 year till I retired in 2000. My Dad owned several duck clubs in Imperial Valley. I used to hunt a lot at Tule Lake. We have some pretty good goose hunting here, almost all Canadians.

I have never shot one, but I have a friend that does. He told me they taste pretty fishy, like a Merganser.

Looks like a hen surf duck or scooter by the looks of the bill. Really big feet too.
