Add me to the list of soup eaters this year. My son and I just hunted 4th season cow elk in Colorado and never saw a elk. We were in the Meeker area and not many elk were harvested, probably do to dry and warm weather. Anyone else hunt there and if so how did you do?

Would agree with unit 7 and Wagonhound. I hunted there in 2014 but not with Wagonhound and killed a 340 bull..

Problem is that the units that you could draw as second choice are now getting out of reach. Like unit 61 that you hunted is almost as bad as the 4 units in the northwest corner. I was able to hunt unit 10 a few years ago but my son who has 23 points, has few options unless he hunts guided...

Just turned 70 and heading out west for the 41st year of chasing elk. Hope to be able to go for many more years as my son and I have points that have to be used.

I would agree with you as to those being my head of the list hunts. My budget certainly precludes me from the Indian Reservation and I doubt I will ever be lucky enough to draw the Kiabab.

I have read of a program you can pay into so that when you draw a tag the cost of outfitter is covered. Can anyone give me info on that?

Have any of you had experience with this technology? Sounds good on their web page but know nothing about them. Checking out the Sig Sauer model as well as the Burris Eliminator III model.

Has anyone hunted this unit and if so what kind of bulls are taken there? My son is looking to finalize application and this unit is one he is considering. Always a crap shoot when it comes to where to hunt as he has to many points (21) to waste and not enough to hunt the NW corner units.

Late season rifle hunt in unit 10 or 1 which would you choose? Any experience in either unit you are willing to share would be appreciated.

Decided to get a new spotting scope and would like your input on angle versus straight. Have always had a straight scope but I am looking at a angle one this time. What's your thoughts?
