I have only fried one and had similar issues but not that drastic. The oil temp struggled to get above 300 for most of the fry. It was cold outside at the time I did it. In the end, the bird turned out pretty good though as I just kept it in until the internal temp was about 155.

I reuse peanut oil but keep separate oil for fish or anything else that transfers flavor. The key is to keep temperature from getting too high. Once it burns, the oil is terrible to me. My fish oil typically lasts for several different Fry's.

Everyone's points are well taken. This is a scary situation. I just consider the measures being taken as selective. If they want to shut it down, shut everything down.

I understand your point, I just disagree. Hunters take risks yearly with their own health. I see very old people at 10k elevation hunting yearly. Doing that might kill them but it is their choice. As long as people aren't putting others at risk, they should be free to choose.

I believe at this point all we can do is let our public officials know our disagreement and remember what governors did what at the next elections. Some states are encouraging hunting and fishing as a safe way to social distance, others would like us locked in our home.

I live in Nebraska for what it's worth. I don't agree with the wyo law either. My point is some government officials are specifically targeting sportsmen and showing a disregard for other activities/businesses that are at minimum equal risk.

I agree with Scott. I really feel sportsmen need to push back in some of these circumstances. I'm worried that we are allowing things to happen now out of fear and will regret not pushing back in the future. Nebraska closing turkey season is an example... I personally think it's ridiculous...
