    new Savage rifles

.308, .6.5 Creedmore & .300 wssm The only commonality is that they all are short length so they can use the short action, saving weight.

The only thing wrong is the lack of choice on calibers, only 3 to choose from.

    First Timer

Everyone here has their own favorite states and favorite species they hunt. Browse the different states and get an sense of where and what you want to hunt. My advice to a first timer would be Wyoming and antelope. Wyoming is pretty generous with tags, there is lots of public land and tags are...

    Thank you Veterans

When I was in the Army in 1963/65, it was pretty grim if you wore your uniform when travel. Lots of crappy comments and looks.

I was editing some of my pictures and ran across these from 1990. My Dad and my Son were with me along with a lifelong friend. Dad and I got 2 decent buck deer and we all got antelope too.

For those of you who like to look at big bucks, there is a great book on Colorado's biggest deer. It is: Colorado's Biggest Bucks and Bulls...and other Great Colorado Big Game. It is really a great book. It is hard to judge just how big trophies are when they are on the wall. The Burris buck is...

About 10 miles from my place. I can see MV from my deck. Don't be so sure it won't ever happen. In the last 10 years I've seen a handful of bucks in both Wyoming and Colorado that would go close to 200" . They are out there, very smart and tough to hunt. I've only taken one that big in over 60...

It's in the showroom of Adobe Milling in Dove Creek, Co. The picture doesn't do it justice as there is nothing to compare it to so you get an idea just how big it is. The company is a pinto bean grower and retailer. The owners wife shot it on their farm.

Depends on the season and unit. There are 4 rifle seasons, an archery & muzzleloader. Anywhere from 5 to 15 for non residents. I checked this morning on my favorite unit that I like to hunt 4th season and it takes 5 for a resident and 12 to 15 for NR's. this one was taken 4 or 5 years ago on...

Yep, just north of me. I've seen some monsters on private ground in Dolores County. I hunt this area exclusively....when I can get a tag. I have enough points to draw in 2021.

    Another Nv Deer

My family were pioneers in Austin in the late 1800's. We go there regularly to clean up the Pioneer Cemetery west of town. I've been to the old family homestead and spent a lot of time driving the backroads. I have seen some great bucks over the years. I have tried to get a NR tag for the area...
