    New hunters

Depends on what a new hunter means. If they are truly new and have never hunted before, I won't do anything till until they pass or have a hunter safety card. I am pretty nervous with a person who has never hunted before. Hunters who have hunted small game or waterfowl, I am a lot more...

One of our Guys has Covid.

Got a message from Steve O from Michigan who is recovering from a pretty serious bout of Covid 19. His 2020 season was ruined and he was in really serious condition. Looks like he is on the mend now. Wishing him well.

    Dad’s first Mule Deer hunt

What a great hunt! You will never forget it and neither will he. I lost my Dad in 2012, he was 94. I took him on his last hunt when he was 90 and he filled his bull elk tag. Treasure the time you have with him.

    Proposition 114

The vote was FOR = 1,412,507 ; AGAINST = 1,402, 820 DIFFERENCE is 9,687 votes. The ballot language requires the P & W Department to conduct a study on how to procede. My guess is that it will be several year before any releases occur. I have also heard that there will be another petition...

Video of Snowy Range Moose Hunt

As usual your videos are superb. I had a deer tag (along with 3 others) in the unit effected by the Mullen fire, so no hunt this year. Great bull, congratulations.

    Missing some forum friends

Especially hunting buddies. In the pas 5 years I have lost 3 hunting buddies that I have hunted with for 60 years. Can't be replaced, but thankfully I still have the memories and pictures. The real problem for me is finding someone to replace them. Most guys my age around here don't hunt anymore.

    Missing some forum friends

Several years ago someone brought up the idea of a member get together. There are quite a few state parks that have group camping areas. I think it would be a lot of fun to get together for a weekend (or more) so we can meet other forum members. Anyone have other ideas ? What say...

Any tips or tricks to replacing stuck blades in an outdoor edge knife?

The only problem I've had is carrying the replacement blades is a pain in the butt. I do carry them in the field and a few blades. I also keep any dull blades and take them with for disposal later. I never buy a knife without looking at it first. I usually buy mine at a gun show as there are...
