    Rattlesnakes

I used to hunt them but they didn't survive when I found them. I know they play their part in the ecosystem but I would much prefer a gob of bull snakes crawling around than 1 rattlesnake! They both do a nice job controlling rodents and the later won't ruin your day.

    Hunting applications during Corona.

If school is closed in the fall but hunting is allowed, my 11 year old will be by my side in Wyoming. I believe he would learn more on a hunting trip to Wyoming than he would distance learning. I'm not sure I would be as willing if I had 7 to take though! We would be drawing straws lol.

    Uh Oh Drought...

This is an important time of year as far as moisture is concerned as many areas receive 1/3 - 1/2 of their yearly precipitation in a couple of months. For example, Laramie only receives 12.4" per year with 5" of it falling from late April through Late June. If an area has a below average...

    Iowa Spring Snow

Similar scene here in Nebraska. We got 7" after it finally started sticking. If the ground had been colder, I believe we would have about a foot.

    Uh Oh Drought...

No. Each area is compared to that specific areas historical average. It will only reflect colors (show drought) when the actual moisture received goes well below average for that area. Much of Wyoming only get 10-15" of precipitation a year but it is showing white right now since most of the...

    Post Your Favorite Hunting Picture!

I started my youngest at 5... He was a very mature 5 year old. NE69 let us borrow a great little .28 gauge auto. I would highly recommend starting kids with one of those. Almost no recoil and turkeys were DRT inside of 30 yards.

    Post Your Favorite Hunting Picture!

Some of my favorite pictures were my boy's first turkeys.

What Pistols Do You All Carry?

Hi art. I'm a bigger guy (6'2, 240) and really like the fox iwb holsters with the extra padding. I have tried a couple others through the years but the fox is the best I have found. In winter, I still carry owb when I can wear a coat or sweatshirt.

    Outside shooting

It's snowing so hard here I'm not sure I could see my target at 30 yards... I do plan to resume shooting once it warms up next week.

    Fed checks arrived on time

In my opinion the government is responsible, especially at a state level, for many of those people being unemployed. My wife and I are in our mid 40s and have less than 10k in debt. Our house is paid off and we have a decent start towards retirement. Why should my family be forced to go...

    Fed checks arrived on time

For those who have lost their jobs during this time, I agree the money will help. I believe the number of unemployment claims was up to 22 million recently. My question is why pay the other 200+ million people the same money? Find a way to help those that need help instead of just throwing...

What Pistols Do You All Carry?

.40 S&W Shield - It is very reliable, it fits my hand well, is easy to conceal, and is very accurate for a gun that small. I can comfortably place a clip full of rounds quickly in a 10" circle at 60'. That is plenty good enough for that guns intended purpose and meets qualifying accuracy for...

    Fed checks arrived on time

My family doesn't "need it" either but it is coming at a pretty good time for us. My wife owns a small salon and unemployment benefits have been delayed for who knows how long. On top of that, my college student son has been without work for over a month so this helps bridge the gap for a while.

Weather conditions south of Thermoplis / Antelope

Rainfall? It's still snowing in Wyoming. Yearly precipitation for that area appears to be close to normal. As far as winter kill, the next couple weeks can be critical. Late spring wet snows followed by cold can sometimes cause the greatest damage. By this time next month you should have a...

    Reusing fry oil

Depending on the size of the bird, you can fry as low as 250 from what I have read.

    Reusing fry oil

I have only fried one and had similar issues but not that drastic. The oil temp struggled to get above 300 for most of the fry. It was cold outside at the time I did it. In the end, the bird turned out pretty good though as I just kept it in until the internal temp was about 155.

If your stuck at home what are you and your families doing to pass the time?

Here is something fun to make with the kids. My 11 year old was pretty fascinated. The substance is truly pretty interesting. There are several other videos out there. Just search Ublect or oobleck.

    2020 season

If we are still shut down by then, I am for sure going hunting. Heck of a lot safer than WalMart.
