    2021 WY Quality

Since you like to sniff Grimmetts underwear, here is what Eli had to say on hunttalk: "I know the research has shown that the largest antelope that are killed are usually in the 3 or 4 year old range, but I've got a very strong inclination that the largest bucks will be 4 years old and not 3...

    2021 WY Quality

Right, of the KNOWN ages...what percentage of B&C bucks are aged? 10%, 5%, less than 1%? I've never been asked for the age on any of the ones we've entered, but they are all over 4. Here's an easy way to age your own pronghorn, deciduous teeth in the front incisors...

    2021 WY Quality

I would have used unit 62 for my choice of units for your good year argument...this year looks to be good in that unit from what I've seen so far this year. Probably a good place to burn some points. In the article you posted, did you read the part about most B&C bucks south of Montana being...

    2021 WY Quality

Some questionable information as well. I doubt there's many, if any B&C bucks in Wyoming that are 2 years old...probably a handful at 3 years old. A vast, vast majority are 4+. The 5 B&C bucks my wife and I have shot are all 4+. We've shot another 5 or so that grossed 80, but netted under the...

    Antelope or deer?

Totally agree... What has me troubled is the steady decline in pronghorn in Wyoming since I moved here in 2000...alarming, trending about like mule deer. Hopefully reducing tags, in particular doe tags, can reverse it some.

    Antelope or deer?

The hunters thinking doe tags are a slam dunk are going to have some long faces...

    More Elk Tags for WYOMING!

I get your point, but I really don't care if fewer guys go outfitted. Base your business on a public asset and expecting it to not change is foolish. Better be part of your business model to expect and react to change. My public wildlife assets don't exist for the sake of outfitting interests...

    More Elk Tags for WYOMING!

Right, because 7,250 full priced elk tags going to NR's now, versus 7,250 full priced tags going to NR's under 90-10 is different? How does the same number of NR elk hunters under both systems equal less revenue for hotels, guides, food, etc.? Its no difference...not a bit.

    More Elk Tags for WYOMING!

Won't have to raise Resident liceses much...been discussed how to make up the revenue and its not a big deal...Add $10 to all the full priced Resident licenses and $3 to an annual Resident fishing license and you're well past the revenue loss to 90-10 going for all species. If 90-10 only were...

    More Elk Tags for WYOMING!

Shows how little you both know about the NR/R elk draw. First of all, there isn't anything in the article about what type the 2k additional tags are, full priced (type 1, 2, 4, or 9) or how many are reduced priced (6, 7). From looking at the regs, a majority are cow/calf, but for sure some full...

    I Found A OOP's Today

Easy way to avoid that...I throw all my charges, keep them in the loading tray and then take a flashlight and look at every single case mouth to make sure they all have the same amount of powder. Then I seat the bullets. Never have found anything out of the ordinary, but I have a process that I...

    WGFD Proposed Changes

I agree, but for clarification there was not type 6 tags, doe tags were type 2 and "full price" 50 years ago. Type 6's are relatively new.

    WGFD Proposed Changes

If people saw what the quota's were 20-30-40 years ago compared to now...you'd be asking for even deeper cuts.

    Thoughts on Suppressors for Hunting?

Don't care one way or the other about them really. I'd rather buy another tag to hunt with, buy better binoculars, etc. than pay to put a can on a rifle barrel.

    Grizzly Kills Fisherman

Unfortunate and feel bad for him and his family...but when you bump bears off of a carcass, these things happen from time to time. I fully support state management and limited grizzly seasons, but killing a handful of bears a year isn't going to stop this type of thing from happening.

When did you kill your first deer?

Montana 1980 with my ruger M77 in 6mm Remington.

Senate Bill 103 - Wyoming License Price Increase - Guy Eastman

Things are moving fast...if I were a WY NR hunter I'd be looking to burn points soon or dig in for the long haul, in particular moose, sheep, and LQ elk. Residents would be wise to burn their moose and sheep points as well if they can. As to the article...I sent clarifications via email, not...

    Kodiak blacktail advice

We quartered and removed all the neck, rib, and loin meat. We also took photos of the carcasses since AK has some pretty strict meat recovery requirements. The last day of the hunt, we boned all the quarters for final shipping/flights back. The other 2 hunters on the boat with us drug them...

    Kodiak blacktail advice

Nothing much, didn't see it until I after I shot, I suspect it was in a day bed. It was maybe 100 yards from where the deer died, it got up and worked its way over the ridge behind the deer. I sat and watched for a while and then went down and recovered the deer. My buddy I was with stood around...
