Wyo Task Force - Nonres Comments!

I smell rags burning...its your pants on fire Sebastian. Residents have been buying points for moose and sheep for over 25 years....also wayyyy more Residents buy conservation stamps than NR's. Not to mention, we fund all the GF budget that isn't covered by license sales (45% of 80+ million).

Wyo Task Force - Nonres Comments!

Over hunting, disease, migration corridors being disrupted, energy development, habitat loss, habitat degradation, habitat fragmentation, conifer encroachment, climate change, late succession in plant communities, drought, highway mortality, poaching, weed infestations, easy access, ATV's, long...

Wyo Task Force - Nonres Comments!

If you can provide a shred of proof that NR's were ever told, "a point system would result in a hunting opportunity"...I'll agree with you. That was never the case...ever. Just the same as all the States I have hundreds of points for, I was not promised a tag and there's many I have never, and...

Wyo Task Force - Nonres Comments!

The reason behind the task force is to increase Resident opportunity. Secondly, the task force is well aware of the allocations in surrounding states for sheep, moose, goat, bison. In EVERY state those allocations for those species are no higher than 10%. Some, like moose in ND, are 100%...

    Wildlife task force, 90-10, etc.

Filling out surveys is great for those that want to put just slightly more than zero effort into making changes happen. You have to form relationships with the decision makers if you want to impact change....they can't read your mind. You have to gain their trust and present your ideas in a...

    Sheep judging tips and tactics

First step is to understand the rams in the unit/herd you're looking at. Many herds won't have many, if any, real high scoring B&C rams. Some have a ram every now and then that will score above the minimums. Others, like in a few MT herds, will have 5-6 year old rams that score well over...

Stop wishing and take some action. I hear lots of people complain, including about folks that MAKE things happen and get the changes they want.

Wyoming NR general tags - how many point required this year ??

Wyoming doesn't call it trophy management its either recreation management or special management. Most general areas are under recreation management, but, some LQ areas are too. Elk herds managed for recreation need to have 18-25 bulls per 100 cows post harvest. Special management requires 30+...

    Wildlife task force, 90-10, etc.

There's a lot of things being said...and JM77 and I, as well as others are in on a lot of the side conversations going on. But, like I've told you a few times now, 90-10 for the big 5 is the low hanging fruit that is getting the task force moving forward. Everyone at this point seems fine with...

    Wildlife task force, 90-10, etc.

That right there is proof positive of the needed change to 90-10... Over the course of 10 years, 1,400 more Residents with smiling faces from only 7 LQ elk units, and that's what its all about, right Sebastian? That's a pile of happy Residents. Oh, and for the record...that also means 1,400...

    Wildlife task force, 90-10, etc.

Sebastian, your listening problem is still an on-going problem. You won't listen...so call some of the outfitters up that way...Josh Mortoglio, Meade Dominick, Corey Fisher, etc. etc. Ask them if Residents are paying for guided sheep hunts. Call tag and drag about how many Resident bison...

    Wildlife task force, 90-10, etc.

Again...you won't listen. Sy, like a lot of Residents, is more concerned about his grandkids, kids, etc. having more available opportunities at the big 5. He also knows what I'm trying to tell you (unsuccessfully because you fail to put your listening ears on), that 90-10 for the big 5 is NOT...

    Wildlife task force, 90-10, etc.

You can call BS all you want Sebastian... I was there, in person, and Sy Gilliland was speaking on behalf of WOGA...in full support of 90-10 for the big 5. They know the same thing, more and more Residents are hiring outfitters for sheep, moose, goat, and bison. They aren't losing...

    Wildlife task force, 90-10, etc.

    1. for the big 5 at current tag allocations...116 more tags for R. 2. IMO, when they start providing a single penny to the funding of the State wildlife or State lands, they have a voice. Until then, they get what they get. Hard to complain about the free lunch they get...and THIS will be...

Not much...buck pronghorn, 2 pronghorn doe tags (headed to the bin), additional WT buck tag, 2 antlerless elk...will buy general elk, deer, bear, wolf, lion, and turkey. I'll splash around in the leftover pronghorn draw too... Have a group of 4 guys coming out for elk with 7 tags between (poor...

    Wildlife task force, 90-10, etc.

No...and no. Not a single NR or R is required to buy points...I do, at my own risk and know full well that the systems change. MT, CO, AZ, UT have all changed systems since I started applying/buying points. I don't expect a refund from any of them...and never even thought about.

    Wildlife task force, 90-10, etc.

Right, and you still have a chance to use your points under 90-10...and you still have your points, not complicated...you weren't buying a tag, you were buying points. Nobody took anything away...no other way to look at it. Now, if they issued you a TAG and then took the tag away...different...

    Wildlife task force, 90-10, etc.

If 90-10 happened for elk, you'd likely draw a general tag sooner...there would be wayyy more general tags available to NR's.
