    WGFD proposed changes

They removed the special archery antelope tags off the units that don't have a lot of archery demand.

    Less Permit Applications?

I don't apply for a lot of states, just 1 or 2 - both application periods are now and later. Do you-all think that less folks are even going to apply for hunting this year?

    Help with unit

You-all have waited a long time to go, wish you the best. Also - seeing that "this is it" as you aren't gonna get another 25 point tag again - maybe consider a guided hunt?

    COLORADO MULE DEER

I had my dad out at 79+ last season - the cold got to him a bit but he got around pretty well but we were in pretty flat terrain. If you can get to a spot to glass from, you will have a great trip - see the deer and hopefully find one you like where you can get to it. Have a great trip.

    MT Mule Deer over $600?

We all have that cut-off - If it is gonna cost over $500 for the tag I'm not as likely to purchase one.

    Binocular Question

Thanks, guys. Task - yes, 10x. Just want to get best bang for buck. Cowboy - no scouting for me, I'm too far out to scout - just show up and hunt. Winchester - thanks for confirmation. Was thinking 10x would be best since I have to use em on the east side of the states too. Tripod or...

    Binocular Question

Deep - Forgetting they are binoculars would be nice. Thanks, Jim. Was thinking to stick with 10x, had heard 12 and 15 get shakey. I don't mind a tripod and have seen how a tripod makes even the 10x work better.

    Binocular Question

Thanks, Deep. Jim - I corrected my initial post, they are 10x42. Will do a search on the refurbished Vortex binoculars. Hoping that some folks can share the brand and series that help the deer stand out. There are no places around Orlando to try most brands of optics - Bass Pro was mainly...

    Binocular Question

I have the 10x42 Leupold Mojave Cabelas version binocular and love it for all the uses it has back east. Then I tried it on my 2019 hunt. We had some muley does bedded at 400 yds and could see em if you knew where you were looking. Buddy had newer sub-$200 Leupolds that showed em a tad bit...

How much time do you spend behind the glass? Let us know!

    Not nearly enough.

    Horn Hunter Main Beam XL

Pack is as-new. Purchased in late 2018/early 2019 for what was supposed to be a back country hunt and ended up truck hunting. Pack was used a few times around home and a few times in CO 2019 season. Never seen meat, blood, or even dead animals - the couple times I wore it were just "walks in...

    Is there any good news?

IMO, hunting will never be better than it is right now. Never again - so get out and enjoy it, if that's what you want to do. As the regulations increase and the land open to hunting either decreases or gets more crowded, expect less folks to go. We all have a BS level that we accept and will...

    2021 W

I don't think you missed anything. Everything I'm doing is based off reading the stuff on the WY websites. Not using go hunt or top rut or such. Did something similar in 2017 for antelope. Worked out pretty well. I think the hardest thing is having confidence in your choice without...

    2021 W

Looked at the general areas and had to compare em to the gang. We are a group of 3 older guys - two in 50s, one in 60s. One with a bum knee. Q D M seem like the three potentials. Hunting sage brush and rolling hills seems appealing - am I looking in the right areas for that?

Decided on Caliber - Now need to decide on Rifle

Good point. Browning AB3 has a nice compact. Feels a tad small but a slip on recoil pad might fix that.

    2021 W

I spent some time in A in 2017 while hunting antelope - saw the distribution of hundreds and hundreds of deer, mostly whitetails. The farms had oodles of deer in the fields. We also saw many wt deer where we camped, bucks and does. Spent 1 rainy day driving thru some further reaches of the...

Thanks - I forget what was going on (not drink influenced) - went from asking to doing at that point I think, which is what I meant by moving on. Wasn't meant in a condescending manner. But rereading it can see how it was taken that way. Entitlement means quite a bit to me - It is the guys...
