Was disappointed in a VX3i - it would shoot 2-3 inches at 250, my 10-15 yo VX2 will shoot 1-1.5 inches at 250 - same ammo, same shooter, same Model 70. Sold the VX3i when I couldn't get Leupold Custom Shop to do anything (new reticle) cause they've been closed like forever - shame they lost...

Have fun - did my first muley hunt last year. Be flexible and roll with whatever the deer, mother nature, or other hunters throw at you. You'll have a great time.

My only one so far. Biggest deer I've shot to date - body and horns.

I've got shot capsules and loaded up 100 38 spcl - they'll break a clay pigeon but didn't perform as well on a quail - think I had 7.5 or 8 in there. Considering trying to get some heavi shot and run with that. Will need to try it out before loading up any more for 38 spcl or 357 mag.

Have 2 horn hunters - full size main beam xl and a lumbar pack. (Really like that lumbar pack) Use cheap kiddie olive green and camo packs for all-day stand hunting. Use fanny pack for other hunts.

I have a 770 in 243. It shoots an inch with bluebox ammo. A little less with some hand loads. Very consistent gun. I did notice that I was hitting my safety glasses with scope and put a Leica on it. My primary rifle these days.
