I wish I were as committed to getting myself in shape for fall as you all are.

My morning regimen is pretty much limited to curls with a 12 ounce coffee mug 😀

Cant win lol was 35 mind and some change 12.75 miles into my ride a piece of the belt let go on the inside and wrapped around the pedal bar. So had to take apart and cut that piece. Got it back together and got another 15 mins in but not sure the resistance levels are working one hundred percent now

35 mins 12.75 mile
15 mins 5.61miles

So on that pace would have been around the 22 mile mark

Am lean protein ideas other than chicken and eggs ? Just bored right now and looking for other options.
Salmon, has a multitude of health benefits besides being high in protein. Also may help with some of your aforementioned soreness, it has very powerful natural anti-inflammatory properties as well.

Not meat, but another of my favorite ways to get lots of protein is a scoop of protein powder stirred into greek yogurt with protein granola, depending on what combo you use its easy to hit 50g of protein in a small bowl.

Do not overlook red meat as well. Elk, deer- and its fun to prepare.... if you know what I mean. [emoji16][emoji106]

Walk with the wife to stretch legs before Pitt as well as a lot of landscaping after work.
Going to try to take it easy & rest until Sunday, barring minor work around house. I've not had any downtime in a few months to recover.

Bi’s & Tri’s yesterday and Back today...25 days til my hometown 5K in which my goal is to finish under 21:30.

BC - often that rest is as beneficial, if not more, than the training. I once read that Olympians often practice overtraining 2 weeks before events and then rest an entire week leading up to it. Food for thought...

I totally agree with the over training/exhaustive training prior to tapering and resting. I?ve done this a number of times in my powerlifting career and it is extremely beneficial.

On another note I feel confident in saying that you should obtain your goal in your hometown 5K based on some of the training numbers I?ve seen you posting up. I?m not sure of the course elevation but if it?s relatively flat, or minor elevation you should do well.

I am running the Pittsburgh half marathon for the first time this coming Sunday. Forecast is for rain so I?m not overly excited about that. Considering I have never run this particular race I will PR either way-LOL
I have run my hometown half marathon, dub the toughest half in the country and I believe it, and I?ve completed it in 1:50- 1:55 three times.
My first big race was last year in Columbus Ohio half marathon and I finished in 1:42 minutes on a relatively flat course. As you know Pittsburgh is level before you get to town and level when you leave town and nothing in between where the race is-LOL. Considering the race is so early in the year and my training is not where I was last fall and all of the elevation change, i?m hoping for a time between 1:45 and 1:50.
