Hmmm, this one is really familiar, pretty sure it got published...Here is a real good one that my wife got in 2015 it was her first bull elk and so it is her biggest. Right at 50" wide..

I'm always impressed with bulls like these from Utah general units. They are really hard to come by. Getting a mature bull on one of these units is a major accomplishment. Two is off the charts. Here's my two best.
Almost twins.
2013 and 2017 Utah general season bulls.

Yea that other bull I spotted opening day. Took awhile for him to kill it. That bull had pretty decent mass and was fairly symmetrical. I liked it for those reasons. His ended up being 14 years old. Mine was only 7. Would have been cool to see his bull a few years earlier. I saw a bull in the same unit about ten years before that was a perfect 7x7 that I figured was around 410".Settle, ha. I seem to remember a cover of the first bull you mentioned.

I found the key to success is to sit on an escape route. Last years bull was running from some other hunters and I was able to make a 320 yard shot on the moving bull. It was using the same route as my 2013 bull used.It all depended on when you hunted Utah for big bulls. Back before they turned 90% of the state into spike only on the general hunt the whole state was open for any bull, and some huge ones came off of it every year. But even now on the any bull units you will find some real nice ones coming off of them every year. It just takes a lot of work to find them.
Heck of a first bull! Here is a real good one that my wife got in 2015 it was her first bull elk and so it is her biggest. Right at 50" wide..
