Scott you have a good memory or yea Kime's bull was printed in the elk issue in 2016 it was a cool deal for her. My latest buck was in the backcountry issue in 2017.. We dont have any mounts in the house and this is about the only hunting display and kinda a cool way to do the 2 articles side by side.

It all depended on when you hunted Utah for big bulls. Back before they turned 90% of the state into spike only on the general hunt the whole state was open for any bull, and some huge ones came off of it every year. But even now on the any bull units you will find some real nice ones coming off of them every year. It just takes a lot of work to find them.

Settle, ha. I seem to remember a cover of the first bull you mentioned.

Yea that other bull I spotted opening day. Took awhile for him to kill it. That bull had pretty decent mass and was fairly symmetrical. I liked it for those reasons. His ended up being 14 years old. Mine was only 7. Would have been cool to see his bull a few years earlier. I saw a bull in the same unit about ten years before that was a perfect 7x7 that I figured was around 410".

Great bulls everyone. Hopefully a few more will be added to the thread once the seasons start up this year.

I found the key to success is to sit on an escape route. Last years bull was running from some other hunters and I was able to make a 320 yard shot on the moving bull. It was using the same route as my 2013 bull used.

You figured out one of the best ways to hunt elk. Get them figured out on what they do and then just sit and wait.

I have a spot in Colorado that is the same way. You might have to sit there for a couple of days but you'll get yourself a elk.

Beautiful bulls guys!

This is my best Rocky Mountain bull. It is 367 gross from New Mexico.

This is my best rifle Roosevelt (Oregon). Never scored it.

This is my best archery Roosevelt (Cascade Roosevelt from Oregon). It was in the 280s.

Here's my biggest bull to date. 2015 DIY WY General Public land. Gross scored 358 5/8 and nets 348 3/8. It was a 35 yard shot on a really rainy day. No calling just still hunting through dark timber.

A lot of great bulls taken!
