The prep work is all behind me now. For 45 years I kept in peak condition and was even in "sheep shape" for most of that time. Now, at age 67 my main focus is to be healthy and uninjured and in "mountain shape." I think that I am there. Besides my normal routine of splitting wood and some basic exercises, I have hiked 150+ miles in varied terrain during the last six weeks with pack and poles, upping the weight as the jump-off day nears. My pack is 42# for the 5 day fishing/small game/exploring/acclimating trip into the Indian Peaks Wilderness of Colorado. Leaving at 4:00am tomorrow and hope to be solo camping at 10,600' on Monday. I'll hike back out and do a turn-around on horseback for a guided elk/deer muzzle-loader hunt. Game on. Good luck boys, and I'll check in when I get back.

Cut down 4 30' trees broke them down, wood stacked, branches hauled out. Replaced an area of fence, hand dug in new posts 3' deep in the dry cement we call dirt, and not because I dropped the trees on them LOL. 4 days of hiking and fishing last weekend, daylight to dark today, feeling great!
