I put 2 -25# weights in the new kifaru pack and went for a hike. My wife commented on how I didnt talk much during the hike.

I told her its hard to talk when your crying. lol

On another note - The new pack was a good purchase. It makes a huge difference.

I picked up the Reckoning 2 yrs ago.
New but did not order all the extras so price was cheaper than a new Exo.
Of all packs I tried it was setup best for my particular needs.
Been a good decision after 2 seasons. [emoji106]
Tough to go wrong with any of the big venders.

I do work out 3 times a week but I'm also thinking of taking up cycling at least 2 times a week..Would it be hard to compare?

Cycling is good for you; just be sure to make it challenging so as to build up cardio endurance and leg muscles. I see a lot of folks in 1st gear on small hills and keeping on the flats at 20 mph thinking they are getting a good workout because they are going fast.
I like to mix in cycling to give my legs a break from the pounding of running and hit the leg muscles from a diff angle.

When I was playing men's league hockey a lot I mixed in cycling. At that age I didn't have a lot of guidance so I followed a pyramid structure that went up in resistance ever two to three minutes for a total of 30-40 minutes riding. I liked it and it didn't pound my legs nearly as much.

Good abs/shoulders workout this morning.

I agree cycling is definitely a great break on the joints. I prefer to ride my semi-fat tire mountain bike in the steepest terrain available. My resting heart is 41-45 so I really struggle to keep it over 135 to stay in the cardio zone while cycling though. Just something to watch for as bonecollector mentioned. If your heart rate is not elevated enough you wont improve your cardio.

We may need a subsection in here for the guys that draw today- usually an uptick once guys know they better get their tails in shape for the hunt.

My buddy going on a Wyoming elk hunt with me as a non-hunter just got the “oh-shit I better get in better shape” train of thought after a 6 mile hike last weekend lol.
