come on out, i am not as secretive with bike stuff. But i have been mtn biking for 30 years. i love it. When you live in north idaho, there is no flat ground. everything is big ups. yesterday was a 2 1/2 hour climb, to get to the trail. We try not to shuttle.

That's quite the climb, my total ride on Monday was only 1:50.....Now I feel like I'm slacking haha

That made me laugh, Tim. My parents place in Hayden, at 2,500 feet, looks out across the flats of the Rathdrum Prairie. My property up on Higbee Draw is only at 5,000 feet.

It is all relative though. It is fairly flat where I live in Colorado, but my front porch is still at 6,000 feet.

who the hell mtn bikes in a field full of houses. mtn bikes are in the mountains. besides, it doesn't matter what elevation you start at, it is the amount of relief.

Figured that would stir the pot. Agreed relief is a standard of measurement. Good mountain biking around here too. Enjoyed it in AZ when I lived there as well.

While hunting up in your area two years ago, my buddies, without thinking, asked me how I was doing with the elevation. I told them I was doing great with the lower-elevation!

this dude is one of my inspirations. 64 years old with double knee replacements, pedaling the flats of north Idaho.
he got 2 bulls last year, both over the counter one in Idaho, the other in Colorado. this was on yesterdays ride.

Hilltop, my buddy pictured here, uses a pack all the time on the bike. I prefer the trailer. He will lash quarters to the frame, or in a big pack on his back or both. I have used the big backpack on the back with quarters and while it is doable, not the way I prefer to go. The elk pic, is a trailer with 2 qtrs. and a pack full of meat and head. this was one very stupid load, but I felt I had to go that way due to the circumstances. when ever I get my brother to help pack, he pulls qtrs. on a bike with a big pack.

Got 18.5K steps in yesterday. Did the 2-mile walk this AM along with 20 minutes on the elliptical. Tried to review work-stuff via the iPad while on the elliptical, and that just did not work that well. Too much self-induced turbulence to effectively read.

She is dusty, and is by no means a mountain bike, but today marks Day 1 of bike riding, again.

I took my fat dog for a run/walk last night. I thought he was going to die by the end of mile 1 lol. We only made it 2.3 miles. He needs the work as bad as I do.

I'm killing it today! 17 hours of sitting on my rear driving on almost every road in the state of Wyoming... should probably top it off with an ice cream cone, lol

Been doing insanity for a few weeks. Decided to test my legs the other night and did just over a 1,000ft of stairs with a 40lb pack. Will get a run in this evening and start another week of insanity Sunday.
