I needed a jump start to my fitness so I started crossfit again. I did it a few years ago and liked it but then I moved and just started going to a regular gym again. The normal gym I was going to shut down so I've been without a gym for a few months. Figured it'd be a good time to jump back into crossfit. First day was a squat day and I couldn't sit down for about 2 days.

I got a short workout in this morning. Balancing, life, workouts and of course hunting season this time of year can be a challenge.

Flipped the tires and then did upright rows. Super sets on the upright rows.

30 minutes is better than no minutes is what I have to remind myself.

8.42 Miles in the mountain elk hunting yesterday, up to knee deep snow, and feeling pretty good today. All the off season conditioning seems to be paying off. Yea, I seen a moose, that was it, but I had one day to hunt and it's close to the house, so better than working!

Finally able to fully workout unhindered. I've got 2 descent runs in over the past week. Both 6.5mi under 1 hour.
I was able to maintain most of my running and lifting levels through some maintenance exercises.

Sunday W/O:
Worked up to 225lb x 5reps x 3sets on Flat Bench
Followed up by a superset of Pushups and Traps.

So....Antelope hunting is not good for the gut....

I may have drank more Dr. Pepper this weekend than I have consumed in a very long time. Not to mention that apparently Peanut Butter Snickers are now a thing. Yeah, even with 15,000 steps I am pretty sure that my calorie consumption on Saturday was way more than my burn. Topped it off with a mushroom swiss from Hardees...Bye Bye abs, or what little of them I could see before...

Now it is time to work all of that sugar off...

Kettle Bell swings, heavy load walks, overhead, sledge hammer/tractor tire, and squats are in store for tonight.

My efforts to get in shape over the last year really paid off on the mountain last week. It felt so good to not be limited... I felt like I was 25 years old again! I'm now focused on being in elk shape for next year... let the work continue.
