I am following Hal Higdons half marathon program. Lifting on the days he requires cross training.

No intention of actually competing in a half, I just need someone to think for me right now. Pile of personal stuff makes staying focused really tough. Easy button, and all that.

I to loosely followed one of his programs last year. It does help, even for me as an athlete, not just a runner-only kinda guy.

Tuesday:
Lots of abdominal work followed by liming, fertilizing, and planting 4 big food plots. I was whipped! I hope it pays off later as it did last night. lol

I finished up my canoe guiding a couple weeks ago, and have to just keep the edge on for the next couple months. Am still wacking away on the woodpile, but have to take it easy as one elbow has been complaining. I started doing a 3 mile hike with my hunting pack and poles, and am loaded with 30# of gear, and will add some weight every few days. I have to be careful to avoid injuries or overdoing it as the wear and tear over the last 65 years haunt me every morning. Marcus; great job on your training...I think your biggest challenge will be counting calories as you can easily out eat any exercise. CARPE DIEM

Got back late Sunday from my vacation. Didnt get to many regular exercises in mainly swimming in the pools/lake and a lot of walking around towns and different hikinh trails.

Monday
Got back into normal eating pattern and calories. And went for a run. Man that was a hard run after not hitting the pavement for over a week. My body was feeling it and it was super humid and windy as a storm front was coming in.

Another run felt bit better picked up a little time. It was my "hilly" run so bit more of a leg workout. Was cool running on the trail had a red fox run out 5 yards in front of me. Monday had a doe 10 yards from me standing there watching me. Ready for hunting season.
