You are killing it Marcus!
Yeah i was sweating pretty good. That tabata circuit training setup is tough. 20 sec on 10 sec rest 8 times then 1 min rest do next exercise same way through all 4 excercises. Great warm up lol

I do a basic round of sit-ups, pull-ups, and push-ups every other day. I am back up to the USMC max for the first two. The PFT also included a 3 mile run, but I had to give that up as part of my routine when the arthritis became an issue. The real workout is the ten cords of maple that I am cutting, hand splitting, and stacking. All summer will be spent canoeing and portaging with a bunch of teenage scouts. By late summer it will shift to more free weights and long hike in the woods with a heavy pack to prep for three hunts out west.

What is USMC max for those?
The USMC PFT hasn't changed for over 40 years; You can earn 100 pts. in each part for a max score of 300. The max for sit-ups is 80 in 2 minutes; pull-ups - 20; and 18 minutes for the 3 mile run. I could always do the sit-ups, but quit for a while until the standard allowed for crossing the arms in front instead of behind the head to put less strain on your back and neck. The pull-ups took more work, but I am up to 22 now (not bad for a 64 year old). The 18 minute run was always a bitch for me, and I would just have to suck it up and run my ass off to get the time down. I know that my cardio is lacking, but still manage to get to the top of the mountain in my own time.

Knocking out pull ups and push ups every day for now, along with curls and dips, not allowed to do lower body, still have 5 months of rehab on my torn achilles.

Happy training!
