No run today. 70 mile dirt bike ride through mud and snow drifts. I'm exhausted. 4 in the group couldn't finish. Good ride for the first of the season

My wife and I went to Hawaii for a week. Now I need to state, I can not stand beach\resort\ sitting on your ass drinking fruity drinks all day vacations. I would rather work than do one of those. But I needed to take my wife somewhere warm. So we went to the island of Molakai. We had a great time. This is the hick island. Lifted Toyotas everywhere. Only 2 gas stations, one bar on the island. A very rural island. I would go back. I can not say that about the main Hawaiian islands. but that is me. One of my goals was not to gain weight on vacation, but not to also not to worry about what I ate. That was easy, not many restraunts open at night on moloakai. the 92 miles of biking or hiking with 7700 vert of elevation gain defiantely helped. Heck even got the rental car high centered in the mountains. Great island for a rural island vacation. Oh no traffic, at all. no amenties and limited services, so you need to be some what self sufficient.

My friends son broke both arms falling from dirt bike week ago, he said that he will never again drive a dirt bike. You guys drive carefully out there.

Have to know your limits and use the correct gear. Everybody from desert racers in their 20s to old guys around 60 in that group. He must have been doing something really risky to break both arms or possibly not have much experience

This morning's workout was back and biceps. Tomorrow's is chest, Tris and kettlebell swings. I should be plenty sore.

In order to go west, I take the wife to the beach every late spring - early summer.
About 2 days there and it's enough for me. I'll go for a morning run and then read hunting mags or watch hunting videos while hanging with the wife on the beach.

My wife brought home a band system from Gold's Gym yesterday. I'm excited to try it out tonight as I have done mainly body resistance workouts since starting a few months ago. Anyone have experience with the door attached band systems?

Be prepared to be sore in a whole new way...

Hope so! I have hit a plateau of sorts with body weight resistance so need a new challenge to get progress rolling again. The system came with an instructional DVD- no clue how good it is but should give all of the basics.

I used them quite a bit doing knee and ankle rehab, the top end resistance is where I felt it. With weight at the top of a squat you can kind of stay put for a second or two. With the bands the resistance is at it's peak at the top.
