I got lucky last week and had some time to ride my bike. I got 67 miles and just over 10,000 vertical in last week. It would be awesome if I could do that every week.

Markus you are making awesome progress man. Just know there are going to be plateaus and then BAM! you break through in a big way when you least expect it.

Do you have a goal event and date for your 5k?
Yes the 5k I signed up for is august 13. Its called the hard cider run. Its a course through an apple orchard and at the end you recieve a mug of hard cider and we get to keep the glass. Im not sure what my goal time is at this point but i think im going to push for 30 mins total but it will depend on what my times loom like when i get closer to the event

Time is irrelevant. You are going to set a PR (Personal Record) for the distance anyway. Just run by feel. It is easy to go out too fast when you get around a bunch of different speedy people.

True words, when I am in full cycle jogging mode there are days that 6 miles straight feels great. Two days later 2 straight is a challenge and my legs feel like blocks of cement. For your first race finishing would be my goal on the first one.

Very true im overall goal is to finish that is for sure but if i had to pick a time that would be my time framem of course subject to change depending on feel and how the rest of training goes. To prevent the speedy people influence i pick wave three which is the first run/ walk wave. So there will be all different paces going and walkers.

My run today. Todays circuit
10 min jogging
3 min walking
10 mins jogging
All the 3 mins walking was in mile 2 which is why i think the pace was slower by 2 mins on that mile.

It was hot and humid here today 85 degrees. hotter then normal for this time of year not sure how that effected the run. I dont like heat a whole lot lol. Side note the new shoes worked awesome and felt so much better then the old pair

Awesome work Marcus. Shoes do make a big difference.
I've been tapering off my running for my 2nd ever race Saturday. Unfortunately, it is supposed to be very hot/humid. Race time temp to be 70. This does not bode well for a good time and new PR over last year. It's claimed to be the toughest half in the country. I'd have to agree. :)

Just finished my run my goodness its hot and humid out.
My circuit for today was to run 2.25 miles. My pace dropped off from my other two runs this week. I think do to two reasons main reason is i went on a run right after finishing a chaos filled 11 hour shift at work and number two is the heat. Im trying my best to not focus on time cause that will come as i do it more but hard for me since im a competitive person. Overall the run felt good minus my legs were definitely weaker then my previous runs this week.

I got in a nice hike Sunday. Almost 12 mi with 45 lbs on my back. Then a shorter 2 mi hike yesterday with the family. But I upped the weight to 60 just to see how the body recovered from the hike the day before. I was happy, didn't feel too bad.
