Had my annual physical today and the Doc said my blood pressure is still up a little to high. Probably to much good food on the ranch. I will try to cut back on my intake a little there and up my training a little. I went on a longer hike this evening with the pack, planned on 5 miles but I spotted a couple nice whitetail bucks and didn't want to spook them. I changed routes and went about 3 miles in a loop through the pasture. I muzzle loader hunt near where I saw those two and one may be a shooter so I think I'll change my walking route. I can walk a section a couple miles away that has more hills and less deer this time of year. I might start driving to it and walking the perimeter. If I take some wire I might get more rest stops fixing the fence up while walking it!

Keep after it Marcus. Not all results are measured by the scale.
The one picture is my triceps thats where im noticing way more definition then Before. It nice to at least notice something. Have had a few people tell me the gain Could be from the muscle gain from lifting and finally eatting a little more which helped the muscle out. But not so sure if thats right

life has been crazy busy. but i was able to check my trail cam this morning, versus work out. but it is, 3 miles and 1300 vert from the truck to the cam. 2 mile pedal and a mile bushwack. took me 40 minutes to get there. I got pics of bear, cougar, bulls, bucks, does, fawns, cows, calves. Trail cams are like christmas, you never know what you will get.

Good job, running 5.5 miles is tough at any speed as far as I'm concerned. I'm sticking to walking at least for now.

I went for a walk tonight before dark. I took my real hunting gear I'll take to the field so it would be my realistic load out. I walked about 4.5 miles in 1hr 10 minutes if my phone app is right. It said I was walking about 100 steps per minute average. I don't really know if it's set right as I just started playing with it. I walked around a section pasture, not right on the perimeter or in a straight line, but as close as I could come. One side has a new fence we built a couple years ago. Where the dozer pushed out the old one is really rough now with 12-24" weeds and grass hiding lots of rocks and wash outs. It's more like western terrain than a lot of what I can walk. This pasture only has a couple longer steep hills along the fences, but a lot of steep narrow ravines with maybe 200ft elevation change. I haven't skipped a day of carrying the pack and walking all week, I think I'll take tomorrow or Sunday off to let the body rebuild. Next week I'll alternate between shorter, steeper walks with the heavy pack and longer faster ones with a 30lb load. Maybe I can make the Doc happy next visit and be a better hunter this fall.

Good job Marcus. Moving is exercise itself!

As far as your times comment; perhaps start adding more length to your runs as apposed as the quicker time. It will benefit you in several way, including time when you come back to the shorter distances.
Keep after it!

A buddy of mine drew an area 3 Wyoming goat hunt. I might have to kick the running regiment back into high gear if he wants me to help with the hunt.

Congratulations everyone, sounds like you are getting ready for the fall.

I did the 2.5 mile hike through the hills tonight with the Eberlestock Mainframe and Transformer. I put the 50lb bag of cattle mineral inside the Transformer so it packed really nice. I drove the tractor baling most of the day, needed to get a workout in. I took the weekend off after going every day last week. I had a horse jump a ditch while helping a neighbor ship yearlings Saturday morning and it jarred my back pretty good. Most of the draws in our area have rock bottom, but these didn't and the horse got excited when he started sinking, lunged up out of it real hard. I was ready for him to do it and he jarred me anyway, must be getting old. After taking the weekend off everything felt good again tonight. Grass is getting really tall to use the trekking poles in now!
