Tahoe, Yosemite,
I have found everything from knives to phones. What has everyone else found out and about?

I have had three separate friends find guns in the backcountry. One was actually inside an old walnut tree.

Have had a few weird ones. I found an abandoned atv. It had been there a while judging by the vegetation. Went to see a man about a horse and there it was. Not sure what the story was. Possibly a theft? We reported it. Not sure how it got in or how to get it out, probably still there.

This year in WY, Jedediah Smith Wilderness, there was a broken snow machine belt, about 7 miles in, on top of a ridge at about 9,000', up a very long steep climb. We figured he was not alone or carried a spare; or we would have probably found the machine too. Go figure. Hopefully they got a big ticket, but I doubt it.

I found a stolen truck toolbox full of tools. I was too scared it to open so I called the sheriff and they came out and got it. I just knew there was a body I there lol.

Have not found anything of importance, but I've left a trail. A glove here, a face mask there, a Leica range finder.....dang that one still hurts and the wife will not let me forget it!!!

A dead body - Some of that Katrina mess. Old sawmill ruins, arrowheads, grinding stones, meth cookers, parts of Space shuttle Columbia.

A person that was missing for a month (dead) Found him while cutting across the ice of a frozen swamp as his hand was the only thing sticking out of the ice.

Two snowmobiles under a pile of pine branches. They where stolen and stashed but we followed the tracks to the brush pile.

I once lost a Leupold rangefinder, then found it, then lost it, then found it, then lost it, and then found it again in the same day chasing speed goats in the sage. It now gets threaded through my belt and a belt loop, I guess I'm a slow learner.

I lost a borrowed pair of binos! That was an awkward conversation when I got back. E-bay and 2 day delivery made it all better. Haven't found anything exciting besides a few arrowheads and an orange toboggan.

In our antelope hunting area we've found a pile of 50 cal casings, belt clips, and bullets. My granddaughter has started a collection. She has a bucket full. The area was a practice gunnery range during WW II.

Nothing that great really. Some arrow heads and quite a bit of pottery. Actually found a big slab of rock where a bunch of pottery pieces were arranged in a perfect square in the middle of a forest we were hunting in. Pretty cool to stumble on and wonder what used to be there.

PS I'm hoping I don't start finding dead bodies like some of yall!

I also lost a pair of borrowed binos. After my leicas came missing out if my truck. So I lost a pair of Brunton epochs and Leica ultravids in the span of two months. Ouch. Still sick

I found a few knives and one pair of Binoculars that had been through quite a few Wyoming winters and looked like a cow had been chewing on them.

I've found quite a few modern broadhead-arrow combos, a decent fixed blade knife, and a functional Bushnell laser rangefinder. One of the arrows was a beman ics hunter I put a new head on and later shot several whitetails with. Plus a cool piece of fossilized bone.
