Literally any big game caliber shooting any legal bullet will be fine. I prefer to shoot them with bonded, controlled expansion bullets to keep meat loss to a minimum. My last several were with a 30-06 and 165 grain Hornady interbond. Almost no meat loss with a behind the shoulder shot.

.243 Win. 80-85gr TTSX ~3300fps.

.270win 130gr backup.

if you go 25-06, I'd say go 100gr bullet.

I think a 6.5prc with a 120 or 140 could be pretty awesome,
or if they ever do a 7mm prc....with 120/140...
I guess that could include a 280ai....
but inside of 500yds I think the .243win is pretty awesome!

117 gr works best for me.

25-06 with any good 100-120gr bullet is hard to beat. I mostly use 100gr Sierra Gamekings or Swift Sirocco’s. Both perform well, the Swift is much tougher but on antelope its not necessary.

My next tag I’ll be packing my 264 win mag with 140gr Bergers. I love that rifle for antelope or deer in flatter country.

I was waiting for that Bones !!
Scott must have a doe Antelope tag.
Don’t think a Creedmore would kill a buck 😉🤣
Joke is on you guys...I have a buck and a doe tag!!!! And I have my 2018 mule deer buck on film with a one shot kill at 488 with a 6.5.

All joking aside, in the right context it is a good choice, but bigger than a mule deer is where I draw the line. I will not be using one for elk, and honestly Todd has about won me over to 7mm even for mule deer.

Sounds good 👌
If you’re looking at the 7mm you should also check out the .28 Nosler. Same Bullets with awesome ballistics.
C'mon man! The 28 Nosler is just the magnum version of the 6.5 Hipster. It comes with a case of Mtn. Dew and a flat brim hat.

That said, I've killed a pile of goats with a 257 Roy and this year will be putting a brand new 6mm Creed to work with 115 Bergers running just a hair over 3K, pretty stoked about that one. My wife loves her 270 Winnie but has killed several lately with an AR-15 running Hornady ELD-M Match factory loads. Does the job nicely. Lot's of options, that just another fun thing about speedgoats.

Interesting comment about the 28 Nosler.
Kind’a weird though, I thought you were only allowed to smoke dope at work here in Colorado. 🤣
The 7mm is a great cartridge, but the 28 Nosler will shoot further, flatter, and hit harder, than the 7mm all day long.
C’mon man! Join the 21st-century!!

After shoulder surgery I'm going to be using a 660 Remington carbine in .243 Winchester. Otherwise I'd use my 30.06. I use the same practice of sighting in as Colorado Cowboy, 2" to 2 1/2" high at 100 yds. for a point blank range of 300 yds + or -.

I bought my son a Model 600 in .243 when ne was 12. He still has it over 40 years later and it still shoots lights out. It is a tack driver for sure.

I’m going with my .270 Mark II m77 shooting 117g Hammer Hunters this season. 1/2” groups. If I were to to get a new loper rifle, I’d look into a 6mm ARC… ain’t no loper safe with that set up with 105 Berger’s !!

I heard a lot of press for the 25/06 and perhaps its better but i used a Browning .243. and Hornaday ammo. I think it was 175 grains or so. Did the job just fine. The shot was pretty close 100 yards or so. Don't overthink it. Pronghorns aren't very big ant they are delicate critters. They have to be to run like they do. The guy i was with used a 30.06 an it just about cut that goat in half. blew up the backstrapa and maybe the tenderloins too. So no need for too much punch. Pronghorn hunting is a blast just look at lots of bucks . They all look the same at first. plus they are some good eating.
