Thanks and yea I will shoot you a email.

Sorry as I was a bit short in the first post but my 2 year old woke up so I had to cut that first post short. I am 40 years old and have hunted Co all my life with brother, father, uncles, and grandfather. I enjoy hiking in the high country in the late summer just about as much as anything and have a digiscope set up that I drag along to take pics. My wife started hunting this year and hikes above timberline pry more than me. While she did not get a elk she was able to connect on a good buck. I now hunt with a compound bow but used to hunt with a longbow. The early season's are when I love to hunt deer but may have to take a rifle out again one of these years.

As I said I like hunting mulies best and elk a close second. While I love hunting mulies I am building points in neighboring states to go on a elk hunt one of these years.

Some great animals and folks on this thread and I thought I would contribute.

Good luck to all in the upcoming draws and season.

As is with a bow it has been 2 years since I was able to harvest a deer. Here are the 2 that got away this year.

I had him inside of 50 yards 3 times and he just gave me the slip every time. Even had my bow drawn on him at 45 yds but he was quartering away to hard and as I would not forgive myself if I wounded a buck like this so I passed on the shot and never got another chance.

Here is video of him.

And a couple of pics.

Here is video of the other buck that got the best of me this year. I got a good feeling that this will be my year ;)!

Oh yea I also love to take pics almost as much as hunting and have a bucket load from years past. I will try and share some more on here. You can only put 4 pics in one post or I would post a lot less..

Here is the last set from me on this thread.

Howdy... Scott here from Florence MT. The picture above is, well you guessed it, my family. Shorts and no shoes.. had to choose that one since we are shin high in snow right now. Lucky to have a great wife that support my love for the outdoors and excited to get my kids involved. My daughter has already been on multiple harvests with me at the age of 7.

I started out as a boy waterfowl hunting, never thinking I would like anything else. The constant action was never found in any other hunt.. Then around mid twenties fell in love with deer. Nothing better than glossing sage flats.. Now I feel the transition again at 37 chasing elk.

The one thing i've learned in life is never say never and never judge another. I work on self evaluation, my marriage, parenting and always strive to be a better hunter.

I love life and feel grateful for what I have. And proud to be an Eastmans forum member :)

I love reading this thread and looking through the photos and I suppose I will finally introduce myself (as I am one that never did like so many others). My name is Ryan. You wouldn't guess it by looking at me, but I am in my thirties now. I work in a warehouse in ND. I am at a very busy point in my life and I'm finding it difficult to find time to go hunting/fishing these days. I recently got engaged, I enrolled back into college this semester, and I'm working more than ever before. I haven't done much out of state hunting, but I have tagged along with relatives in MT and have done a little whitetail hunting in MN. I prefer to bow hunt mule deer more than anything else but I do enjoy rifle hunting on the rare occasion I draw a tag. I can't help much when it comes to true "western" style backpack hunting, but I do consider myself to be proficient in muley hunting as well as bow hunting and will give my opinion as I see fit (of course my opinion is just that and in no way do I ever mean for it to be the final word in any conversation nor do I take offense if my opinion is disregarded by others). I also like to dabble a bit in photography while I'm out and about.

Ok here goes, don't think I ever did an intro either. My name is Shanon I'm 30 yrs old from west central Minnesota. Bought a septic business 4 yrs ago, yup sh_t haulin!

Have a wife and 2 girls ages 5 and 3.
Ok on to hunting, do a lot of hound hunting. Used to go out to Wisconsin chasing bear, but since buying a business it's been so busy hopefully a few more yrs we can hire someone to work so I can get back to hunting. Father in law still goes out ever year. Been out lion hunting a couple times also probably the most fun and the most work of hound hunting. Been to Montana once muley hunting and to Wyoming antelope hunting. Currently have 4 points for deer and 2 for elk. Just have to find time to get away. Also bow hunt whitetail here and do some fishing of course. Sorry about the bad pictures had to take a picture of the picture so not so pretty.uploadfromtaptalk1393725515099.jpguploadfromtaptalk1393725528670.jpguploadfromtaptalk1393725542353.jpg

Been a member since the beginning, didn't spend much time on here at 1st there wasn't much of following in my opinion now it seems like there are some really good guys. My name is Lance, I've lived in N. Utah my whole life, grew up farming, fishing and hunting, killed a grouse when I was 6 hunting with my Dad and I've been hooked ever since, I transitioned into Big Game Hunting in that 14-16 year old range and have been accumulating points in Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Arizona and Montana ever since I can remember, my other passions are fly fishing and fishing for the adronomous fish that run in Idaho's river systems. I'm working on my Masters at USU in Plant Science and I have an undergrad degree in Rangeland/Wildlife Science. Been Married for about 9 years now, got 2 beautiful girls age 4 and not quite a year. I've really enjoyed bringing new people into the outdoor tradition, I dragged my wife into the outdoors our first year of marriage, since then she has killed a couple Antelope one in Wyoming and another in Montana, a couple Muleys in Utah and Colorado. In 2008 I got my niece involved and since then she has managed to put down 3 Antelope all in Wyoming one was a mid 70's goat in a unit that required 0 points(made me feel really good) and countless friends that had never stepped into the field with a firearm that are now some serious outdoorsman. I look forward to making my daughters tougher, stronger and better shots than most boys now days, I can already tell that the oldest is well on her way. I've hunted extensively in Western Wyoming, Central and Southern Idaho and Northern Utah (don't hesitate to ask me questions). My late uncle got me involved with competition shooting when I was in my early 20's and I've taken my love for accurate bench and F-class rifles into my hunting rifles and I feel I know a thing or two about making a gun shoot. I don't have many friends that live close anymore so I'm always looking forward to meeting new people in the field, I've met a bunch of really awesome people on my yearly Steelhead fishing trips to the Salmon River and look forward to it for years to come. Hopefully I get to meet some of you guys out in the field and maybe share a cold coke while we shoot the breeze about past hunts.
