Just ban ‘em completely. They are becoming a crutch and an excuse not to scout.
Put your boots on the ground and find out what’s out there yourself. Enter the animal’s domain and do your best to defeat him one on one.
That’s really what hunting is all about when done right.
Dave....I agree with you 100%. But the sad thing is we are old school!

which opener? in idaho you can basically hunt year round if you are not picky on species.
that is a good question!

I would assume big game hunt openers .BUT does that include bears, lions and wolves??????????

probly wouldn't include coyotes, bobcats ,linx and such. AT least not YET!!

you can bet if the bans get started it WILL include those latter in the near future.

while I am not really opposed to banning cameras from the woods it is much more important to me that liberals be banned from our nation!!!!!!!!!!!!!! planet would be even better!!!!!!!!

I have a few cameras, for me they are discouraging. I’ve had them where I’ve killed elk to see the possibilities. So far I have next to nothing in my cameras yet I still like to hunt there, I must be abnormal.
There are a lot of technical items used for hunting that in my opinion take away from what hunting should be.
If Oregon banned them I would totally be ok with it. I would like to see them ban using bait first however.

while I do not bait , I am not opposed to it and would not vote to ban it. same goes for running with dogs.

as to the technical items ........sure can't argue that the use of cameras , radios, cell phones, gps, and even planes and copters has gotten way put of hand.
I am not really against banning all of it but we all know enforcement will be sporadic at best and it will be pretty much impossible to stop.

instead of banning , setting good examples for the youth is a better option in my mind.

and yes ,I am aware that is a fantasy in this age. there are not many good mentors left!

I should clarify my view on bait. Here in Oregon it is legal to bait deer and elk, it’s illegal to bait for bear. It is also illegal to use hounds for bear and cougars, but legal for bobcat and raccoon.
I personally think it should be legal to bait for bear, not deer or elk and hounds should be legal for all predator.
