Way to go UH! Just curious, how did the bullet perform? I went back and forth between .243 and other option last summer for my wife's cow hunt. Obviously it worked but would you do it again with a .243?

We never recovered the bullet and it was a direct hit on the heart and no heavy bone was hit so it worked great on her shot. Had she hit heavy bone (shoulder squarely) I am not sure how it would have done. I have been loving the Accubonds from my 300 WSM and so I thought it would be worth a try in the .243.

Thank you everyone for the comments. My daughter has loved hearing what people have said.

That's awesome! So many kids don't have the ability to keep their cool and make a good shot. Tell her a big congrats from Nebraska- my boys are both envious.

What a fine first animal! My daughters first animal was also a cow elk in Eastern Oregon. That was about 17 years ago. I remember it like it was yesterday. Enjoy every minute you spend with her in the woods UH - They grow up to fast! Great job!
