Since I already have a rifle to cover everything I do or will ever hunt, I would chose something I have just kind of wanted but not really in need of. I'm thinking I would like a 45/70. Torn between the Marlin( I think they are called the guide model) or a Sharps. Why not both????
Nothing like a Sharps! They are a joy to shoot....especially with Holy Black.

After thinking about it I think that I would go with the 416 Barrett M99.

It has the range and knock down power for anything on the earth and a few things that are off of the earth. Just a plain Jane type of bolt action rifle with a muzzle brake that makes the first shot count.

Mine doesn?t shoot worth a sh**! I must have got a (expensive) lemon. Very disappointed to say the least...

Hmm I shoot the bullet they recommend. I only have put 120 rounds or so thru it. My first three shots at 200 was under a half inch. I have not shot any other ?custom? rifles but I am impressed.

An 1873 Winchester 1of 1000. But since that's out of my price range, I just bought a kimber mountain ascent rifle in 3006. First gun I bought in 23 years.

Idk

I may be old school, but that thing, as good as it may be, just looks too 'star trek' for me to carry afield. [emoji38]

Well, I already have a Weatherby Vanguard 7mm Rem Mag and a Marlin 1895 in 45-70. One for serious, and one for fun. I don't need another rifle, but if I was going to look for another one, I've been thinking it would be an AR platform in 6.5 Grendel, or maybe step up to 260 Rem or 7mm-08. Something I could use for calling predators from coyotes to bears.

Hunting rifles now owned and hunted with:
Browning A-Bolt in 308
Browning A-Bolt in 260
Tikka T3 SL in 7RM
Remington M7 in 260
All of these rifles wear Leupolds and all see action during the long Whitetail season in Mississippi.

If I were buying a new rifle it would be another Tikka SL or Browning Hell’s Canyon in 300 WM.
I also own a Winchester 1894 in 30 WCF with an Octagon barrel. Not hunted!

You can kill a building with that!

I want to buy a "new" Savage Model 99 in 250 Savage.
